This fantastic reproduction of a gown worn by Queen Jane Seymour in a portrait by Hans Holbein was seen being worn by Kate Phillips in the 2024 sequel to ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐ โ ๐ป๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐. ย The piece looked familiar, and some digging revealed it to have been used in 2016 in ๐บ๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐๐๐๐, worn by Elly Condron also portraying Jane Seymour. ย However, because the documentary likely did not have any original costumes, it means that the gown almost certainly did not originate with the 2016 documentary. ย So where ๐ ๐๐ it originate? ย The most likely candidate is the 2008 adaptation of ๐ป๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐. Though the gown is shown only briefly, and almost entirely in shadow, it does appear to be the same gown. Minor alterations were made for ๐บ๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐๐ and ๐ป๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐, but the fabric on the petticoat is the best indication that they are the same.
