As we come to the end of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK; the theme of which was ‘Kindness’ this year, we decided to make our own ‘Elmer the patchwork Elephant’s out of plastic milk containers whilst reading the book and thinking about all the different ways we can be kind to each other (and ourselves!), including celebrating our differences! 😊 This activity was suggested to us by Charlie’s school teacher, but, we’d already spotted it on @imaginationtree a while ago and so had been busy storing up milk cartons, in preparation! They all loved making their elephants, in whatever style they liked (we decided they didn’t have to be exactly like Elmer because it’s okay to be different) and then playing with them afterwards.
