Elmo Lincoln and Enid Markey starred in the first Tarzan film, the silent "Tarzan of the Apes" (1918), adapted from the first novel. ADVENTURES OF TARZAN (1921)
Elmo Lincoln, the first actor to portray the Lord of the Jungle in Tarzan of the Apes and The Romance of Tarzan (both 1918), returns for the third and final time to the role.
Adventures of Tarzan is a sequel of sorts to both The Romance of Tarzan and The Revenge of Tarzan (1920), each adopting the first half of the second Tarzan novel, The Return of Tarzan, and made by different production companies.
Adventures was the second Tarzan serial, following The Son of Tarzan the previous year. It was also Tarzan's last appearance on the silver screen until 1927's Tarzan and the Golden Lion.

Elmo Lincoln starred in this action-adventure serial after playing the King of the Jungle in the first two Tarzan films ever produced. Carl Laemmle sought to capitalize on the success of these adventures by naming this serial after the actor. Elmo the Fearless also featured the debut for actress Louise Lorraine, who worked steadily in other serials and shorts for Universal.
