Hey, Eloi.
Eloi: "Hm? Who's that?"
Guess who'll need to make sure this legacy continues.
Eloi: "....Ooooh, no - you guys better not have chosen me. I just want to play my computer games."
Too bad.
Eloi: "Why can't it be Zack? He doesn't do anything so he has time for this."
Nuh-uh. No excuses. We want you.
Eloi: "Ugh, fine. As long as I get to pick where I'll go on vacation."
Evelyn gets along great with her eldest son, but they've taken up the nasty habit of gossiping about everybody in the household. Fortunately for them, no-one has caught them yet - because that could lead to some awkward situations.
Zack dug up a gnome with the miner. It's a Mr. Evil Gnome and it looks quite menacing for something so small.
Summer had hit the small island and it can become quite hot inside the house. Eloi decided to cool off in the ocean by taking a swim.
...Well. This is weird.
Matthias: "W-what?"
OH NO. NO NO NO NO NO. ;___;
Matthias: "... I look pretty decent for an elder, don't I?"
They put up a telescope on top of the roof. The summer nights are pleasant and Céline often spends hours outside, searching the galaxy for interesting phenomena.
((((;゜Д゜)))
Since Matthias always fixes Eloi's PC when he breaks it, he has acquired a decent amount of knowledge about computers too.
Eloi was already half into his life as a young adult, so it was really time for him to go on a trip and hopefully meet someone with whom he could continue the legacy. His father had told him all about how lovely the French ladies were (much to Evelyn's dismay). Eloi decided he would go to Shang Simla and his little brother and sister would go with him - their parents didn't feel like traveling.
And a couple of days later, they found themselves in the beautiful surroundings of Shang Simla.
It was even hotter in Shang Simla than back home. The three of them spend most of their time around the marketplace and sometimes visited the Scholar's Garden or the Phoenix Academy. Céline had warned Eloi that maybe it wasn't considered appropriate to take a swim in the fountains. Eloi would just wait until there was nobody around before he dived into the refreshing water.
Even though she was on vacation, Céline could usually be found playing chess in the Scholar's Garden. The air was soothing and she found she could concentrate on the game so much better than back home.
Céline would often return to the base camp and find out her brothers were still somewhere outside. Most of the times she was alone, but one day she found this other girl - a tourist, she guessed - on one of the benches in the main hall.
She thought it was great that she had finally met another girl of the same age as she was. Céline interrupted the reading girl and introduced herself. Her name was Lita Wembley and she was indeed a tourist in Shang Simla. Apparently she had somehow run away from her hometown and was traveling all over the world to see new places.
Céline: "We live on this deserted island, it is quite weird, really. I think our family has been cursed, but I don't know exactly what has happened. "
Lita: "That sounds ... interesting."
Zack had picked up martial arts, but he wasn't very good at it. Maybe is he wore an appropriate attire, he would feel more at ease.
Even though they tended to each go their own way during the day and night, most of the times they made sure they were eating dinner together and talk about their days.
Céline: "Hello?"
Lita: "Ah, yes! Hi, Céline! What are you doing tonight?"
Céline: "Well, me and my brothers are planning to take a swim in the fountains and hang out at the marketplace. Do you want to come?"
Lita: "Sure, I'll see you later!"
Eloi's sudden sense of freedom had gotten to his head. He decided it would be cool to go skinny-dipping.
And of course his little brother was there to steal and hide his clothes. Well done, Zachary.
Céline: "Awesome, you made it!"
Well, this is entertaining.
Eloi found himself in a quite an embarrassing situation. Lita thought the current circumstances were really amusing. Eloi had somehow made himself look like a really gutsy guy and Lita seemed to like it.
Lita had joined the siblings in their dinner meetings. She told the siblings all about the special places and must-sees in Shang Simla and listened eagerly to their stories about living on a deserted island.
And bit by bit ....
...Eloi and Lita seemed to grow more close.
One of the elders of Shang Simla felt pretty happy with himself when he beat "that Gardner kid". Everybody just let him be, even though they knew Zack sucked at chess and that is was his younger sister Céline who had been beating every chess player in the neighborhood.
Eloi discovered that there were a lot of trees ready to be harvested in Han's Orchard, he found some pretty rare fruits too.
Lita had been spending a lot of time with Eloi, leaving Céline alone - again. She saw an ad in the local newspaper that a family down the road had some puppies up for adoption. After a couple nights of consideration, Céline went to have a look.
And she adopted Cinnamon.
The local fish types had gotten Zack's attention and he managed to catch a couple of different Koi fish.
Eloi liked to spend his evenings stargazing with his summer love.
And finally, Eloi found the guts to confess his attraction to the pretty blonde.
Eloi: "It's just that - I never thought I'd enjoy my vacation this much, It's kind of thanks to you... I guess."
♥♥♥
Eloi: "And if you'd like, you can come with me back to the island. I mean - if you'd want to... It's not like you have to, it's just that... I'd like that."
Their vacation was nearing to an end and Céline went to the market place to buy a couple of souvenirs and some books to give to her parents.
Zack is enjoying the afternoon sunshine by hanging lazily around the Scholar's Garden. But I mean, who can blame him?
Little Cinnamon has been spending her time in the base camp, which is large enough for her to explore and have fun in. But she gets extremely excited when Céline comes "home", because it's so much more fun to have a human around.
Eloi had come down with the flu, the poor thing. He had to remain indoors and eat lots of soup. Oh, and preferably not kiss his new girlfriend, otherwise she might get sick too. But there was a silver lining around this dark cloud: Lita felt really bad for Eloi and decided that she'd go with them when their vacation was over to take care of him.
Zack thought it would be appropriate to explore the mausoleum right before their plane was supposed to take off. Nice.
They were going back home!

That's all for this generation! A heir poll will be up after this update, because I really cannot decide, so I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me out. :3
Let's start this update with appreciating Céline's sippers.
Here, have an artsy-fartsy version too.
Okay, so. It wasn't easy, living with five people in a tiny house on a small, deserted island. Especially when two of those people are teens and keep picking fights with each other. Céline can be downright nasty when she's having one of her grumpy moods.
Zack isn't taking any of this crap his baby sister is giving him. He is mature enough to respond in a decent manner and just ignore her childish behaviour.
Okay, maybe not.
After her mother had told her not to act like a child, Céline locked herself in her room and spent the afternoon improving her logic skill by playing chess.
It is truly fascinating to see how one minute they cannot stand each other and the next they're acting like none of it happened. Eloi's appreciating the peace between his younger siblings.
Someone broke the sink. None of the family members bothered to attempt to fix it, nor did they mop up the puddles.
Evelyn: "We're already surrounded by incredible amounts of water, what does it matter if there's water in here too?"
You're just lazy.
They had saved up enough money to be able to decorate the house properly, without going broke. Evelyn and Matthias got a decent-looking bedroom.
Evelyn was especially fond of the mirror and she spent hours in front of it, studying her facial features and sighing at the sight of every new little wrinkle. She was getting older indeed.
Evelyn: "But I still look pretty, I guess..."
Meanwhile, Zack experienced his first experiment-gone-wrong and managed to burn himself. He didn't care too much.
Céline: "Ugh. Need. Food."
Akfhajkshflsak, so you do know how to paint! Matthias produced the first painting of his lovely wife that actually looked like her. He got to keep it and decorated the kitchen with it. Evelyn was very pleased.
Zack was having a bad day, apparently.
And something was obviously wrong with Matthias too.
Zack and Céline might not get along all the time, but somehow she and Eloi had never fought. It probably had to do with Eloi being the calmer and quieter one, compared to his little brother and sister.
Eloi: "Hah! I won!" Céline: "No way! Not fair! I want to play again!"
Zack finally got his own room. His favourite colour is red and he really liked how it turned out. He even got his own T.V.!
And Eloi got his own room too. Now he has his own place to improve his guitar skill or spend hours playing computer games.
Too bad there was only room for one chair in Zack's room, so when multiple people wanted to watch T.V., they just had to stand.
Spending his afternoon playing his favourite computer games.
Goodmorning sunshine.
Antoine is still alive - he must be some magical jellyfish for living that long.
Just going to let this one speak for itself.
Suddenly, a huge explosion.
Zack messed up even more and set himself on fire. Oooh, how he wished that they had another bathroom and that he didn't have to run down two flights of stairs to put himself out in the shower.
Fortunately, he managed to get downstairs in time to extinguish the fire. Phew, that was a close one.
Zack went outside to catch some fresh air and spend some time fishing, when he suddenly remembered it was his birthday.
Oooh, hello handsome~ !
Céline: "Yes, I finally managed to get through to the next level! I'm going to beat this game before Zack gets a chance to."
Zack invented a miner! Luckily there was room for it outside, so he immediately started using it.
Zack: "What the - ? What is this?"
He decided to investigate this strange phenomenon.
Zack: "Oh wait! No! No, wait! I've changed my mind! I don't want to - Aaaagh!"
But - no worries! Zack climbed out of the ground a couple of hours later. He kept on rambling about some village of gnomes he found living deep below the surface and how he wasn't sure if they wanted him as their leader or if they wanted to eat him. Of course no one believed him.
Zack: "Goopy carbonara. That looks disgusting."
Evelyn: "DON'T YOU DARE INSULT MY AMAZING COOKING SKILLS."
Zack: "...no, mom."
The little lady was celebrating her birthday.
Céline: "Oooh... what to wish for..."
Awww, she looks so lovely. And look at how proud her parents and brothers are.
Matthias: "They really need to be more careful with their stuff - they keep breaking it. And I keep fixing it."

They still don't have enough money (or space, for that matter) for toys for Eloi. Evelyn rolled a wish to buy a treehouse. Yeah. That's not going to happen. Eloi spent his time presiding over the royal court.
Evelyn and baby Zack. Evelyn grew her hair out.
Nighttime at the Gardner island. They got Eloi a bunk bed, so that Zack could use the bottom bunk (Eloi claimed the top one).
Matthias didn't have such a good morning, experiencing the consequences of eating some leftover birthday pie, which had been sitting in the rusty refrigerator a little bit too long.
Goodmorning Eloi. He usually wakes up pretty early, way more early than his parents and baby brother.
But he makes his way out of bed and down the stair really quietly, so that he doesn't wake anybody up.
Tired parents like to sleep in.
...That is, until the baby boy in the room wakes up and starts crying.
Evelyn may be a sweet mother during the day, she most definitely is not a morning person.
Evelyn: "Whyyyyyy, did I decide to have children?"
The day of Zack's birthday had come. They had ordered yet another tasty birthday pie to celebrate.
And it turned out that Zack had also inherited his mother's brown hair with pink tips. How curious.
Zack was really happy that he could finally play with toys, since he had to watch in agony his older brother playing with them, while he was still too young to play with them.
Evelyn: "Ugh, finally some decent tasting food. We really need to save up some money to invest in a real kitchen."
The two brothers bonding by playing a game of peek-a-boo.
Matthias is such an amazing dad. He keeps hugging Zack and playing games with Eloi. And he has taken it upon himself to make sure that Zack goes to bed on time every night.
Zack: "Dadddyyyy, don't leave meeee.."
Eloi always checks under his parents' bed to make sure that they won't be haunted by any monsters that could possibly live underneath it. So far, he hasn't seen any and he has been able to go to bed peacefully.
I was able to make sure that Eloi didn't get his toy, but somehow Zack still got his. Oh well, it looks kind of adorable when it doesn't turn into a living doll.
Eloi is waiting for his dad to read him a bedtime story.
...aaand he picked out a book about improving your handiness skill. Eloi seemed to like it, though.
But eventually it became so boring that Eloi fell asleep.
Matthias: "Evelyn? Hey, Ev? Why are you awake?"
Evelyn: "I don't know. I have this weird feeling, but it's a familiar feeling."
And so it seems that the Gardner family is expecting another baby. Hopefully it'll be a girl this time.
Evelyn and Matthias have got their hands full caring for this toddler. He may seem sweet, but his mood can change in no time and he becomes this angry mini-Hulk.
Hello, baby bump!
Zack named his toy Bobo. Whatever floats your boat, little boy.
Zack is being taught how to walk, which is going to be interesting since he'll be able to get around much faster. Evelyn and Matthias are curious and a little frightened by the idea of what might happen when he'll throw another of his infamous tantrums.
Some mother and son bonding while watching TV. Evelyn tells her son about how her life was when she was younger, but not too much because she doesn't want to constantly remind him of the fact that he is stuck on a deserted island.
Matthias: "...What was that? Did you hear that too, Zack?"
Eloi: "OH GOD. OH GOD. OH GOD."
It's a baby girl! They named her Céline and she's a couch potato and excitable.

The shower broke down and Matthias took it upon himself to show how manly he was by fixing the thing wearing nothing but his underwear. Even though he had no handiness skill, he managed to repair it.
Clownfish: "COME JOIN US, PRETTY WHALE!"
Evelyn: ".............. T.T"
Matthias had noticed that Evelyn had been feeling really self-conscious about her body lately and hoped that a compliment ("You look goooorgeous today, ma cherié!")
Evelyn: "...Yeah, I'm not that big, am I? I'm almost due too. Do you want to feel the baby kick?"
Matthias had made a new painting and it actually looked good. He wanted to sell it, but Evelyn broke down in a hormone-induced crying fit because she wanted to keep it. And so they did.
Evelyn was getting closer and closer to her due date and she decided that it was time to use their hard-earned money to create a room for the baby.
It wasn't much, but both Evelyn and Matthias agreed that it looked lovely.
Evelyn was about to go to bed, when she felt something.
Evelyn: "Ouch! What was that?!"
Evelyn: "Oooh, no. Here we go ... "
Nobody knew what had happened to Matthias. The guinea pigs he was painting seemed to distract him so much, that he didn't pay attention to his girlfriend giving birth to their first child behind him.
Evelyn: "This child-bearing thing is making me hungry. Food please!"
Evelyn: "M-Matthias, seriously, stop painting and hold my hand or something."
Evelyn gave birth to a beautiful baby boy around 10:37 PM. They decided to name him Eloi and he turned out to be brave and excitable.
Evelyn put Eloi to bed after some cuddling and the little boy drifted off to sleep almost immediately.
Feeding time! Look at that adorable face. I used to force babies to age up into toddlers, so I've never actually played through the baby-stage. It's kind of boring, but his face is adorable.
Matthias: "Hello little larva!"
Eloi was a perfect little baby. When his parents weren't cuddling him or playing with him, he usually rested in the baby swing his parents had set up outside. He only cried when he was hungry or when he needed
HUNGRY LARVA. ANGRY LARVA.
Matthias enjoyed a quiet morning enjoying his breakfast and watching the sun steadily rise above the horizon, while both Evelyn and Eloi were still fast asleep,
Matthias loved taking his son out of his cradle and see those little eyes squint against the bright sunlight. He loved to see his little smile and see him wave his chubby arms around.
Matthias and Evelyn were still able to spend some quality time together when Eloi slept. They would collect seashells and build sandcastles in the sun and when the night had come, they'd cuddle up on the grass and watch the starry sky above them.
Evelyn: "Yesssssssssssssss. Drink it aaaaaallllllll."
Evelyn and Matthias were still sleeping outside. They were still saving up money to have an actual house, but wanted to get a complete house and not scramble together little rooms one at a time.
Matthias showering. Let's appreciate this, shall we?
He painted a picture of Evelyn. Although he should really add a sign that says it's Evelyn, because you can't really tell if you don't know *cough*.
It was Eloi's birthday and he had to celebrate this wonderful event on the grass outside.
He turned out to have his mother's hair colour, which is brown with light pink ends, he has his father's brown eyes and he's completely adorable.
Eloi: "DADA!"
Eloi doesn't mind living on an island, he doesn't know better. But he still likes to explore his surroundings. His parents even caught him reaching for some fish the other day and Matthias could pick him up just in time.
Evelyn: "I think it's time you learned how to walk, Eloi. It'll be hard but I know you can do it."
Evelyn: "That's right! Just carefully - I said "carefully" put your feet down. Yes! Oh, Eloi, you're walking! Come to mommy!"
He soft sound of the waves hitting the sandy shore made it easy for Eloi to sleep, to great relief of his parents.
Matthias found a space rock near the shore, which he sold for a nice $150. They're getting closer and closer to having a real home. :3
Matthias: "Who's my big brave boy? You are, Eloi! You finally learned how to walk, I'm so incredibly proud of you!"
