So my first attempt at gif editing on photoshop. I can already tell I screwed up somewhere along the line.... text is all different sizes damn it! But I loved working on them... so more to come.

Derek was trying not to breath through his nose as he ran, hoping to God the hunters didn't see him. He almost made it back to the house, he could see it. But that had been a mistake, as soon as he saw the house he flashed back to coming home to it ablaze. He collapsed to his knees his hands shaking uncontrollably as he tried to breath. But every breath tasted of ashes, it's like he could feel it coating his throat all over again. He fell forward with his hands supporting him. He was gasping for air and bile was trying to force its way up his throat.

He suddenly felt gentle hands on his back rubbing it soothingly. He looked up half expecting to meet Laura's warm brown eyes but instead there was concerned ice blues looking at him. The scent of cinnamon started to block out the smoke and ash. He let himself collapse into her arms and she pulled as much of him into her as she could. She rested her chin on the back of his neck while he rested his head on her chest breathing her scent in deeply. He was clinging to her waist.

"It's ok," she felt him nuzzle into her and inhaling her scent if the situation was different she'd be happy about that, "you're here with me. You're not back at that day Derek. Use your other senses."

Derek weekly nodded and waited for her to continue his breathing still erratic and his hands shaking where they were resting on her back.

“Listen,” she commanded her voice strong, “there’s no police sirens, no shouting, no fire crackling and no breaking of timbers.”

She literally felt his ear perk up next to her chest. He took a deep breath but she could tell he was still quite shaken.

“Look,” she demanded of him pulling his head up, “look no flashing lights, no flames, no police.”

Derek looked around with his watery eyes even going as far as shifting his eyes to use his wolf sight. Before his looked back to her, locking her eyes to see they were as watery as his.

“Touch?” he questioned.

She nodded, swallowing deeply as his pupils dilated, “no heat, no deputies throwing blankets over you to keep you from going in shock.”

Derek moved his hands from around her waist to her hips, “taste?” he asked this time his voice slightly more husky.

He leaned forward placing his mouth on her throat, she leaned her head back and closed her eyes trying to focus on him.

“No ash, no dust,” she melted into him, enjoying this as he kissed his way up to her chin.
