Can I just say you are a beacon of light through all of this! I was so worried when I saw all the negative stuff about Azriel’s POV and when I finally read it, I was so confused. People fangirled so hard when Sarah confirmed he was kinky and now people are upset that he has sexual thoughts towards her? It’s clearly more than sex because he looks at her present every night before he goes to sleep, was willing to die to rescue her, and looked his furious high lord in the face and said the cauldron chose wrong. He’s obviously got some issues that he needs to work through, but that’s what makes these characters so interesting. They’re all deeply flawed and he’s no exception, we just hadn’t had as much opportunity to really see how his mind works. Sorry for the rant, I just love your take on everything and the content you’ve been doing. 😊

Hey! I just wanted to pop in and get your take on some things as I reread ACOSF. What are your thoughts on what SJM is going to do with Lucien next book because I’m starting to get the feeling he might be a little bit of the bad guy(in a minor way). Not in the sense of he’s genuinely a bad person, but his character is so easily lead that I feel like Tamlin and some ppl from Autumn are going to convince him to do something stupid when he finds out about Elriel. I only say that because despite everything, the IC still doesn’t trust him or like him very much, which makes me think that’s SJM’s way of telling us not to trust him. I think he will find happiness because he deserves it, but it’s going to take him realizing that Tamlin and others aren’t his real friends or family.
Also, more evidence I think proves that Azriel doesn’t really feel anything for Gwyn was the news that they were all in the Blood Rite. When they all find out, Azriel is completely focused on the Eris mission and doesn’t make any offer to get her out. In fact, Cass is the one who brings up Gwyn and Emerie and Az is so calm saying that all they can do is trust that they trained them well. I can’t help compare it to all the times he thought Elain was in trouble and he goes into an icy rage. I mean, our soft bat boi got more worked up in the scene where Nesta was mean to her in my opinion. Idk, sorry for the long post, but I’m curious to hear your thoughts on it. Go for it, I don't know if I quite feel like he would be a bad guy, definitely not straight up but he definitely is always going to have some sort of ties to tamlin, I really don't know I've not really thought about it and they definitely didn't get that impression for reading book but I will admit I did read it very fast because I was excited and I can't wait to read it see if it changes my opinion on anything. I can see him potentially being hurt and then if someone comes in and uses his vulnerability against him perhaps that would be a way for Tamlin to get to him, I don't know I wasn't really getting evil vibes personally.
I really hope not because sake and for his own piece. He deserves a break.
Yeah I did notice that I'm not going to lie when I read it, I did think so he was very calm in contrast to Cassian. He definitely wasn't on the same level for sure. I don't think that he is that deep with her, certainly not on the same level as Elain. And of course you could argue that with time that will come, but obviously as someone who doesn’t think they will be romantic I really don't think it will but for arguments sake. I think that protective nature that he has for you Elain is quite unmatched.
He gets very worked up over her haha, just mention her name and he is like “You summoned me.” HAHAHA
