Fandom entitlement culture

So.

As you all might have noticed, the SKAM and its remakes fandoms can be a lot sometimes.

It started off with people knowing who the guy playing Italian Even was way before the show started because people can’t be patient.

Then it continued with Skam France and their really shoddy promotion work and the way the actors don’t put their Instagram on private.

It still doesn’t give anyone the right to stalk and harass Maxcence and make him deactivate his comments or to bother anyone in the cast because you are not entitled to anything.

And now it’s beginning in the Druck fandom. Outright looking for family members, stalking followers until you find the right person and they have to deactivate twitter and insta because you guys feel as if you have the right to know everything which; News Flash: you don’t.

One of the main reasons Julie stopped SKAM was that people stalked Tarjei and waited in front of his school, which was scary and invasive. They flooded Henrik’s insta with mean comments towards his girlfriend and himself because they were apparently too dense to differentiate real life from a show.

There is a reason Henrik and Tarjei don’t appear close to each other in public anymore and it’s starting with Axel and Maxcence as well.

Just: please listen to me. You wouldn’t want your Instagram or Twitter all over the Internet either just because people feel entitled to know about your life. Which they aren’t.
