Notable events

·       Born 3 years after her older brother and Renora’s firstborn son, Cha Hua.

·       First discovered her Semblance during a training session with Jaune, after missing a training dummy after beginning to master her style of sword-fighting.

·       How could she have missed? The sole dummy was right there! Elsa was furious and conjured up such a furious shout that it felt like winds riding from the storm. When she screamed, the remaining dummy fell flat on the ground. Both of them were shocked, Jaune especially as he kneeled to the ground, terrified of whatever that was.

·       There was no time to rest, however, as their sudden terror had attracted a Grimm pack. They had to get up and fight back. Although Jaune did most of the fighting, it was Elsa who led them out of the fight soon as the Grimm scurried off.

·       For a while, she didn’t touch Huntress training. But all that changed when she and her brother were visiting a Dust mining settlement named Chau. Which is where their motivations REALLY took off.

·       While shopping for Dust to power and supply the family’s restaurant, Elsa had noticed a convoy coming back with Grimm on their tail. Beowolves, Ursae, and Griffons overhead. This wasn’t a supply run; it was a retreat.

·       Ren and Nora immediately sprang into action, having their kids stay back. Backup was on it’s way from the nearby SDC security headquarters, but Elsa and Charlie couldn’t sit still for long. There were toddlers who had been separated from their parents, which prompted the siblings to draw their weapons and defend the younglings.

·       The siblings had several close calls with a Grimm’s claws, fangs or the like, but Charlie’s Semblance of steel skin held out and drew them away from his sister while she cut them up like sushi.

·       Their maneuvers were sloppy, but they got them away from the chaos just as reinforcements from SDC arrived. Renora was initially disappointed with how they ran off but were impressed with how many children they saved while they were off fighting the Grimm. As per ‘auntie’ Weiss’ suggestion, the siblings would resume their training once more unto the breach, with Jaune’s help.

·       Elsa had looked up to Jaune, of course. But she grew especially close with Yang after she taught her to fight more aggressively, to rise above her previous doubts and fight her way to victory with the skills she would learn.

·       To honor Jaune and Yang’s lessons, Elsa dyed her orange hair with blonde highlights. This symbolized how important family is to her, and how she views Jaune and Yang as such with how much they inspire her and Charlie.

Personality

Although she takes after Ren in being more reserved, Elsa is often as boastful as Nora, but not at the level of emotional intelligence as her. She was by no means an idiot but started out naïve when it came to the feelings of others.

Early on, with no clue on how to properly lead a Team, she could be bossy and often a control freak with some situations. It would be her partner, Alex Belladonna, who would teach her how to connect with others better and how to hear someone else’s side of the story.

Elsa is brave, yet stubborn. Focused, but scatterbrained. She’s a hard sell for some people but will draw her shield and bash an Ursa’s skull in when the chips are down no matter what.

Weapon

Elsa’s weapons are Sigrun & Bjorn. A rather simplistic, yet effective combination of a shortsword and buckler shield forged for her on her 13th birthday. Sigrun is basic but gives her plenty of room to bob and weave while parrying her way to victory.

Forged and smelted from stainless iron and the heartiest woods straight from Patch, Sigrun seems very crude at first blush. But with some help from Jaune, the weapon is strong enough to poke a Boarbatusk straight through its bony mask.

Bjorn on the other hand, is often her trump card. For a hunk of wood and iron, it’s remarkably effective at blocking the toughest Grimm claws imaginable. Through some lessons passed down to Jaune from Pyrrha, Elsa is also remarkable at tossing her shield in light of her lack of a ranged weapon.

Semblance

As a result of her discovery of the Semblance as a child, Elsa’s Semblance, ‘War Shout’ is something surpassing her anger issues. When tapped into, she unleashes an amplified yell that terrifies people with a weak mind.

Ever since the training incident, and the battle at Chau, Elsa is deeply fearful of her own powers. But mastering the shout allows her to motivate the ones she forms a deep bond with. The shout tends to send her into a state of adrenaline, but there is another option.

In an early method taught to her by Ren, she is able to tap into the classic Mistrali way of thinking featuring sound of mind and soul. Because of this, Elsa becomes more dangerous in this ‘zen state’ due to how much more focused and methodical she becomes.

When the zen state is triggered, nearby Grimm are confused by the more tranquil state she enters. They sense no fear, no rage on her. Just pure nothingness, and pure determination.

ELISABETH VALKYRIE

“THE FALLEN ANGEL”

The Valkyrie clan originated in a small village in ancient Scandinavian territory. The village was self-sustaining; housing farms, woodcutters, and blacksmiths. While they could easily live on their own, most traveled to the city to sell their goods and earn some extra coin for the town. This opened the threat of robbers, thieves, and surprisingly, supernaturals. Demons and monsters who lurk inside and around the city often terrorized the villagers. After a wide-scale attack on villages by werewolves, most hired retired or local soldiers and hunters to protect their homes, thus creating the “supernatural hunter” job. The village hired the Valkyries, old soldiers and experienced hunters to protect the villagers of the monstrous threats.

Elisabeth (Elsa) was born in the middle of the Valkyrie line, a few minutes after her twin, Edmund. They were raised with the idea the family solely hunted for food and happened to protect villages outside the village limits on random occasions. While it was rumored around the village the family held magical gifts, the twins were not fully exposed to the supernatural world. When they became of age, Ed and Elsa became supernatural hunters with their parents and older siblings. The two served as a team of bounty hunters for neighboring villages as well. She trained just as hard as her brother, becoming skilled with a bow and a dagger while her brother favored swords and guns. Elsa was also a great negotiator, convincing other supernaturals to work with them before their demise.

Elisabeth married another hunter in the city, and together they helped the village hunt local wildlife over supernaturals. Elisabeth did her best to keep her supernatural hunting a secret, wishing for her new family to remain ignorant about the monstrous threat. When Elisabeth turned twenty, she had her first child. She tried to retire and remain a housewife, which lasted a few years. After her husband’s early death while she was pregnant with her second child, she was forced out of retirement. Elisabeth loved her hunting job and felt hunting the monsters around the village would keep her children safe.

While out hunting, the twins ran into a new race: vampires.  Having little experience with them, they tried their best to eliminate them. Yet their tactics only work on demons and werewolves, and they could not kill the vampires as easily. Before the vampire made his escape, Elisabeth was attacked and forced to receive vampire blood. Panicked over what happened, they ran to their parents for help. The Valkyries encountered vampires long before the twins were born, and they knew exactly what their daughter was bound to become. They told Edmund to simply behead his twin for the safety of the village and their own lives. Instead, Ed did not believe his sister would become a monster and took her home.

Moments after, the vampires returned in full force and turned Elisabeth. Expecting her brother to have kindness in the event, she was shocked when Edmund turned against her. He knew the legends of vampires, as all in the village did. He was ready to take the vampire down despite the vampire was his beloved twin sister moments ago. She had no chance to show him she was dangerous before he was attacking her. Elisabeth fled, hiding out in the forest surrounding the city.

After a few days of wandering, Elisabeth found the local vampire coven that turned her. She knew the coven intended to turn her and other hunters to spare themselves of more deaths, but she grudgingly joined. Elisabeth trained with intention to gain control and return home over joining them. After a year she returned to her old home but was not met with welcomed arms. Ed did everything he could to keep Elisabeth out, claiming he was only protecting his niece and nephew. He lied to her; insisting the children were dead, or would be, if she continued to come around. He regularly tipped hunters to her location, sending anyone he could to kill her. Over the next century, Elisabeth remained full time with the vampire coven, more heartbroken than before. She aided the coven by hunting any humans that crossed them, especially hunters. Her family sent trainees and skilled hunters alike after Elsa, insisting the abomination to the Valkyrie name must be brought down. She resented the kind for isolating her the moment she needed them and fought to protect herself and her clan. She became a legendary target to the descendants of her family and hunters followed her for centuries. While she always came out on top,  

When talk of the new English colonies reached their ears, the coven leader knew they needed to move west. The coven grew over the last century to fit into a city, so it was time to move on. Without something to hold her back, Elisabeth moved to the colonies in time for the Revolutionary War. Their small coven joined an order which trained fledgling to secretly fight in the war. It was a fascinating task which Elisabeth put a great deal of effort into. Her influence spilled over, allowing her to gain control of yet another army of vampires. She enjoyed the fame and leadership more than she probably should have. She seemed to be finding the life she truly desired.

Elisabeth spent the next century travelling across the new land. She helped vampires, werewolves, and witches alike to thrive. Her primary role was to fight off hunters and mobs from the innocent. She also protected those who could not fight themselves; finding those kidnapped or arrested for their supernatural nature and finding them somewhere safe to hide. When the supernatural war began, Elisabeth was the first one on the battlefield. She spent her entire afterlife defending her right to live and no human was going to get in her way. Finding motivation and inspiration in those who could not defend themselves, she gave the war all she had.

The war ended, yet Elisabeth saw no change. Her people were threatened as if the war never happened. When others angry with the outcome began to organize, Elisabeth wanted to see them succeed. She joined the Horsemen but tends to pick and choose what she is involved in.  She tended to be a spy; gathering intel for their plans and protecting her men in the shadows. Elisabeth continues to investigate disappearances and hunt down supernatural hunters. After receiving a tip about some very vocal anti-supernatural activists in North Carolina, Elisabeth moved to Shadow Falls to find old friends and investigate.

-BEHIND THE CURTAIN-

After spending her afterlife hunted by her own family, Elisabeth can be stand-offish and cold. If she can, she will keep you ignorant of her intensions and actions. She is usually calm and poised yet can kill you with a look. Her patience is short and eliminating the problem is her go-to solution. Violence is always her solution, whether it be verbal, against property, or physical. Death towards her own cause does not phase her. She uses manipulation whenever possible, typically in the form of seduction. She is egotistic and a bit narcissistic. Lying is her favorite tool. When nervous, she tends to remain quiet and stare intensely until you leave her be. To those she does not know well, she comes off as pretentious. The only thing that matters is her personal goals and wellbeing. She has a soft side for those supernaturals in danger or need. She will nurture and protect those she takes interest in, which causes some to fear what her true intensions are. She has a secret soft side for children.
