So... I didn't write this, and thus this story is not canon in the Just one week universe. However, I gave my permission to write it and even corrected a couple of things so... if you want to read it, please go ahead. I think it has some potential.
Elsa stopped in her action, dropping the snowball in her hand to the ground when she felt a rumble in the cave they were hiding in. It made no sense, so she looked up.
Anna and Olaf came out of her hiding place once she sensed the change in atmosphere. But before Elsa could hear a word from her sister, silence washed over the entire cave. And the next thing she knew,a large, thick block of ice appeared between them.
She could see her sister helplessly pounding onto the wall with her turqoise gloved fists, yelling, screaming at the top of her lungs to open up, and the fearful face of Olaf as he slammed his twig-fists against the wall but she couldn’t hear a word.
“Hold on, Anna!” She called out despite knowing the princess could hardly hear a word. “Marshmallow!” The snow golem nodded and with great determination, punched into the ice.
The entire cave shook and a lump of snow fell on Anna’s side, scaring the both of them. But the ice didn’t break.
There was a sweet and soft chuckle in the echoing distance.
“Who is that?!” She called out with her back facing whoever it was. If Elsa had the attention to spare, she would’ve turned around in shock to why it sounded so familiar. But busy, she tried helplessly to rid of the wall with her power instead. Not wanting to risk an avalanche or the cave collapsing on her sister.
Anna stood a safe distance away and waited patiently till her sister broke through, but even with her powers under control, Elsa couldn’t. Panic ran through her skin. Elsa could see Anna mouthing ‘what do we do?’
A quick glance ahead to the outside of the cave, Elsa could see the rain outside was still pummelling on; she couldn’t send Anna out to get help.
Whoever it was, was in control of the wall separating her and her sister.
Elsa took a deep breath of the cold winter air, tickling her nose, and turned around.
And it was like time stopped.
Their jaws fell.Nobody blinked an eye nor said a word. With the distant Anna calling her out to her echoing in the back of her mind, Elsa patted Marshmallow on the head, asking him to let her down.
Getting back to Anna and Olaf could wait. Their safety always came first.
With great reluctance, the snow golem gently placed her mama down with a look of concern. Her invisible eyebrows fell and counted to the times her ice-claws tinkled against each other. Concern grew on her face as the other person locked their jaw back in place and grinned.
She didn’t trust it.
“It’s okay, Marshmallow.” Elsa soothed.
Sharp blue eyes glared right into her soul as she took a step out, but the Queen of Arendelle didn’t back down.
“Indeed, Marshmallow.” The figure said as she finally walked out of the shadows in a tone the golem felt was all too friendly.
Marshmallow didn’t like it. But for some reason he felt he couldn’t attack this person.
Elsa pursed her lips. She examined the person over and over. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She refused to believe what was standing right before her.
Identical blue eyes that stared into her very soul, with a height she couldn’t say one was taller than the other, hair visibly silky and smooth but black, and a confident smirk she knew all too well. Her blue dress covered all her skin save for her neck and collar bones. Elsa could only wonder why when all her life she spent trying to rid of all that covered her.
The clicking of her ice blue heels echoed in the dark cave followed by droplets of water that splashed onto the ground. The crinkling sound of ice digging into the rocks beneath them could be heard with every step she took.
Standing behind her was a similar golem to Marshmallow but was a few inches shorter and more ice shards poking out of its back. They didn’t seem retractable like her own bodyguard’s. Its sharp teeth made her skin crawl, which only seemed to widen its toothy grin.
And when their faces were merely inches apart, she finally asked, “Who are you?”
The black-haired version of herself caressed her cheeks with both her hands. She felt cold as they sank down to her neck, then her shoulders. Elsa watched as those cold blue eyes melt into a puddle of relief. “I’m you.” She whispered before choking onto her tears.
All words left Elsa’s mind but one, “What?” It left the Queen’s mouth before she could carefully form a more coherent sentence with it.
The black-haired “Elsa”, she easily came to believe, pulled her into an embrace, snatching away the blonde one’s breath. Elsa didn’t know what to do, but as the other her said, “I’m you. I’m you. And I’ve finally found you!”, she could only find herself patting the other her on the back and stroking it.
Whatever it was, the Elsa that just approached her seemed to need her help and Elsa felt at loss of what to do. Elsa closed her eyes and pictured Anna’s smile brightening up the darkness that surrounded her. She couldn’t help but smile as well.
When things were hopeless for her, Anna was always there. Throughout her childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Even during her coronation.
Perhaps now it was time she did something herself.
The thought brought a confident smile to her face. As the black-haired claimed-Elsa helplessly sobbed on her shoulder, Elsa pulled her closer into her own arms and whispered those soothing words into her ears, “whatever it is, we’ll find a way.”
