The human, broken, shattered, and hiding, afraid of being hurt.
The spellcaster, a raging inferno of power and anger.
The woman, stripped bare & looking at them all with sadness and hope.
The siren, full of a tsunami of magic and maternal love.

But for now, she would live in this moment, with his arms around her, with her soul feeling whole once more, Elsie would bask in the moment.
He was back in her arms. That’s all that mattered right now.
The siren pressed their forehead to hers, “We are going to have so much fun.”
Trouble, more than fun, was much more likely.
And then there were no more thoughts, only a tsunami of power opening inside Elsie.
But Elsie couldn’t. She had to reach out, accept this part of her life, and merge all the shattered pieces of her soul if she was ever going to be whole. To be who she was meant to be.
Her arrival was met with pure chaos.
Lennon, Zale’s oldest, couldn’t believe she was seeing her cousin outside of the city, and wouldn’t stop trying to haul Elsie around to her favorite hangouts.

“Sirens do not have familiars.”
“But we aren’t 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 a siren, now are we?”
“I have a familiar.”
“Yes, she & Fanta are great friends!”
Much doubt. “Wait, they know each other?”
“Gobby has been around longer than Fanta, we found her when we were six and swimming with Frank.”
Frank. The dolphin.
She should feel bad for him, but considering her current pain and the fact he’d been such a little twat all week, made Elsie not even care.
“No more training until your familiar is under control.” Nixie.
With that, the sirens left her curled up in pain on the beach… alone.
