Surveillan will patrol in the background and fire at players in sets of three shots indicated by an aiming reticle.
He will fire 3 shots at each player simultaneously, making a potential 12 shots per round. This makes party play in this section hazardous.
- Elwiki on 10-2
In order to make sure you’re not detected by Surveillan in this area of the map, remain stationary in the area marked by the blue circle. Then Surveilan will just chill and not aim at anyone and go away after a while. IF ANYONE STEPS ON THE PLATFORM IN FRONT OF IT THEN HE WILL START DETECTING EVERYONE IN THE MAP so please do everyone a favor and just

I want to stand still and do nothing until he goes away. Naturally, the minions summoned will come to you and try to kill you but no matter what you do, do NOT step on the area marked by the red X. Just kill them with range or homing skills and stay in that blue circle area for the love of Gods
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work in the mini Boss area.
Hi. This is a guide to Halted Sun’s Memory, specifically, the boss in Halted Sun’s Memory, Solace before he turned dark and brooding. and sexy
The red circled area denotes the teleportation pad where the left one will teleport to the right one and vice versa.
About Solace:
Like all the other Elysion bosses, he is immune to debuffs.
Please tell me you knew this already.
When he’s using some of his signature skills (and not combo/commands) he has significantly high defense.
You’re going to need to use def-ignoring skills. And no, your piercing is probably not going to work, and no, your wind orbs don’t work either.
That means he is most vulnerable when he’s busy attacking you or someone else.
He’s super-armor during his combo and it’ll be hard for you to attack him when he’s slashing at you, but you can use that to your advantage; wait til he targets one of your teammates or bait him and quickly avoid his combo by using evade skill. He’ll still be mid-comboing and won’t be able to turn around and attack you.
He leaves a disgustingly painful “after image” of himself that flashes in red. It is like a stationary bomb. If you get too close it will detonate. THEY. HURT.
You have to constantly hit him so that his [Mark of Light] gauge won’t go up. The yellow bar underneath his HP bar is that gauge. You don’t want this gauge to fill up.
Solace, like in his Fortress, likes to teleport around a lot. So instead of chasing after him, wait around and try to lure him to you, and be ready to attack when he shows up (he’ll usually teleport next to you and start his super-armor combos). He’ll also frequently teleport to either end of the platform... So keep an eye on the Boss location marker and listen... carefully to his words. Depending on what he says, you can tell which skill he’s going to cast and you can be prepared for them.
Now on to his actual skills...
Note: His actual lines must be different in NA but I couldn’t stand some of them so I changed them.
Solace’s Skills
1. Solar Beam
어떤 것이 너의 정의인가, 이곳에서 보여봐라
What is your Justice? Show me.
He will have teleported to either end of the map, which means you have to run to the opposite end of where he is standing. Then you will have teleported right behind him and can dish out your def-ignoring skills. You won’t be able to approach him in the direction of where he is because of powerful gusts of wind that will knock you back. As SOON as you see him spit out his line, go to the opposite end of the map.
He leaves his ugly afterimage after Solar Beam, so DO NOT CHASE AFTER HIM AFTER THIS SEQUENCE.
2. Solar Flare
돌아봐라. 무엇이 너를 여기까지 이끌었는지를
Look back and think about what lead you here.
"Solace will surround himself with a fire shield that pushes players away which many eruptions of fire burst out all over the stage.” (Elwiki). His shield grants him over 90% defense ignore. But you can’t just sit there and avoid his attacks; you have to constantly hit him because of the aforementioned [Mark of Light].
3. Solar Eruption
네가 스스로 깨닫지 못한다면 의미없는 짓이다.
If you don't realize it on your own, then there's no point.
"Solace will cause a single eruption from under a player.” (Elwiki). Solace teleports to the middle of the platform and causes eruption that will stun... and heal his HP.
But
when he says “세계를 짊어질 각오가 되어있나” (Are you prepared to bear the burden of the world?), he will move on to.. sort of a 2nd phase, and when he does he won’t use this pattern to heal his HP anymore, only relying on the next skill instead:
4. Flash of Death
There’s no need for words from others. Accomplish it in your own thoughts. Your will makes the decision.
타인의 말은 필요없다. 너의 생각으로 관철해라. 선택하는 것은 너의 의지다.
"Using three bars of his power gauge, Solace teleports to the center of the stage and creates a blinding flash of light. This light will deals a large number of hits and cannot be mana broken.” (Elwiki).
He uses this skill when his [Mark of Light] is full.
Except there IS a way to avoid this death. Use long-delay skills. I mean skills like LP’s Supersonic, CN’s Blackhole. Only problem with these are that you have to time it pretty well. If you try to use it by the time you hear the mult-hit noise, you’re too late. Hyperactives work well for this as well, but since you can’t spam it as often, it’s not that great. Ain has his Abschluss. GA has her Ace in the Hole; she’s invincible while she’s casting it. POWER OF ORIAX.
I think that covers everything.
This dungeon is much less stressful than Solace’s Fortress, and I actually enjoy this dungeon quite a lot. I think I’ve ran it about 100 times now... But that’s probably because I can kill him with 4 Iron Scraps lmao
Demons spew out of the dimensional portal in the north sometimes
Ismael, Goddess who follows Elia
Bestows El to the physical world
Names the continent Elrios, meaning “Blessed land where El exists”
Gives the ability to control the power of El to people who are born near El
Elian: Race who can control the power of El
Devrian: Elians who are adept at El energy
Genius Devrian named “Adrian Nasod” creates a technology with AI running on El energy
Names them Nasod after his own name
Rubenian: Race with immense El power
In time Elians and Nasods start a war over El
Elians invent Alterasia
Lost Devrians and remaining Nasod forces escape to a different dimension and creates a sky city called Elysion
Some ancient Nasods frozen in preservation device
El’s power begin to wane.
Goddess Ismael descend upon one girl to help.
The girl sacrifices herself to restore the power of El.
People call her the Lady of El.
Throws Harmony Festival (called Festival of Coexistence in Korean) every three years as a memorial for the sacrifice of the Lady of El and to circulate the power of El
To control the power of El, successors to the Lady of El and 6 different Masters of elements are elected:
Master of the Sun, Solace
Master of the Moon, Ebalon
Master of Fire, Rosso
Master of Water, Denip
Master of Wind, Ventus
Master of Earth, Gaia
And also El priestesses who support the Lady of El and the Masters
Solace thought it’s a terrible fate to dedicate one’s life to control the flow of El, “decides” to kidnap the Lady of El at the time (Harnier) on the day of the Harmony Festival.
During this festival, Lady of El and the Giant El almost become one
After the disappearance of the Lady of El, the Giant El explodes and destroys the contient:
Elrios is divided into Lurencia and Fluone as a result
Cultures that thrived and depended on El’s power begin to wane
Nasods who were coexisting with humans stop all function
The remaining 5 Masters move to where the shards of the Giant El are and sacrifices themselves to restore the power of the El:
Other survivors join and found kingdoms around these El shards
Note: The Heroic Set I am talking about here is strictly Lv. 90 Unique Heroic Set from Heroic Dungeon Hell Mode.
Hi! Welcome to my 2nd installment of.. Which ___ Set?! Guide, and I’ve written a rather lengthy guide on Which Secret Dugeon Set?! here. Also, if you haven’t checked out already, please check out my Guide to Equipment Sets here if you are baffled by this whole journey.
Heroic Set is divided into three groups
격노 - Fury
총명 - Intelligent
통찰 - Insight
and the following are the set options
I really highly recommend against going for the “full” set of one particular group. Look at the 2 piece option. 5% Phys/Mag Attack! Now if you wear 2 piece of one group and another 2 piece of another group... that’s 10%.
That, my friend, is why YOU DON’T NEED TO GRIND FOR THE 4TH DIM SET. The best option out of all the other crap options that 4th dim has is the 10% Phys/Mag Attack and you can get it easily. And with the options I will mention below, you’ll see why you don’t want to waste your time with henir.
Fury and Intelligent are the most popular, and Insight is the least popular.
For each heroic equipment, you get three different options that are all random:
Rank (1~29)
Options (Will list below)
Any Character Any Skill Damage +10%
Rank
The higher the rank, the higher the stat (p.atk/def, m.atk/def, and HP). Try to aim for “double digit” ranks. For super rare options, sometimes you have to compromise with a lower rank. High rank + favorable option + favorite skill option = $$$. Some people tend to not put too much emphasis on the rank though. Take your pick.
Options
This part is going to get long, so hold on to your pants.
Special Active: Tenacity is 100 mp ish skill. (i.e., Freeze Arrow)
Special Active: Strength is a 200 mp ish skill (i.e., Iron Scraps)
Special Active: Bravery is a 300 mp ish skill (i.e., Conqueror)
Shoes have no unique option. Any shoe will have any of the options under the “Common options found under all parts” and “Options found only on armors”. ANY. ONE. of the options. Heroic Weapon will have any one of the options under “common options” and “options found only on weapon”. So on and so forth. I hope this isn’t too confusing. But I will water it down further for your easy digestion at the end, so sit tight.
Any Character Any Skill Damage +10%
This basically mean it could be any skill from any character. For example, in the picture above, my gloves have a “Armageddon Blade Damage +10%”.
===========================================
Okay So What?
The kind of option you should be looking for is highly dependent on your character and your play style.
For example, Grand Archers in general depend a lot on their actives (Siege mode) and having “Using Active Skill Increases Its Attack” stack gloves would be very helpful. For 8%, at 5 stacks, each Siege mode would be doing 40% extra damage for 10 sec.
So there are several “key” options to look for depending on your character and their play style. There are some characters who don’t benefit from having “stack gloves” because they rely on their regular z’s and x’s for doing damage. Or maybe the cool down of their skills is too long for them to be constantly spamming the skills to keep the stack up - then maybe you should look for Cool Time reduction on skills. KNOW your character.
In fact, there are characters who don’t really care too much about the individual “options” on their heroic item. They care more about the “skill damage +10%”. They’ll sacrifice perhaps getting a decent option on their item to opt for another item that has the desired skill damage +10%.
OR MAYBE I DON’T KNOW, GO FOR ALL THREE PERFECTLY STAT’D ITEM
but remember, High rank + favorable option with high number + favorite skill option = $$$ formula is still very much the truth of the world. Rank 29 + Party Magic 10% + Gungnir Damage 10% bottom piece might go over 1b ED.
Now that we’ve covered most of the basics, I’ll try to water down the “stuff” you should be looking for when you are trying to own your very first heroic set.
Decide on two groups of the heroic set.
Decide which option you want on each of the piece.
Buy/Farm for the piece you want.
1. Decide on two groups of the heroic set
Does your character need more MP cost reduction? Then maybe two out of the four armors you want to wear should be Intelligent! Does your character need a Cool Time reduction? Then maybe you should go for Insight. Remember some of these options have a maximum limit (ex: Mana cost reduction goes up to 20% total). Fury is loved by most characters who spam skills for a living. Intelligent might not be your cup of tea if you never have mana trouble.
2. Decide which option you want on each of the piece
For my Nemesis, I knew in my heart I want the Special Active: Strength stack gloves because she spams Iron Scraps every 3 seconds. 6% is the lowest, and not worth getting. You should always go for at least 8%. You might think there’s not much difference between 8% and 9%, but think about it.
8% x 5 =40% but
9% x 5 = 45%
10% x 5 = 50%!!!
So if you are a skill spammer like myself, you might want to decide which skill you tend to spam the most (Active, 100mp, 200mp or 300mp skill) and go for the stack gloves. They tend to be very expensive so beware.
If you are unsure about the prowess of stack gloves, then perhaps this will help you understand better: I’ve shaved a whole minute off from my Add’s Energy Fusion Theory dungeon after getting my first Strength stack gloves.
I also KNEW I want Party Magic Buff at least 8% for my bottom piece. Maximization isn’t bad either, and I was in fact using a 7% Maximization bottom piece until I managed to craft my 9% Party Magic Buff bottom piece.
I also was too scared and poor to try the Extra Damage Dealt/Taken option for the top piece. I took the safe road and chose MP cost reduction option for my top. I was lucky to find one for reasonable price.
For most of my characters, these are the kinds of options I look for in each piece:
Top: MP cost reduction or Ignore M/P Defense 7~8%
Bottom: Party Magic/Physical Buff 8~9%
Gloves: Stack gloves or MP cost reduction 7~8%
Shoes: MP cost reduction 7~8%
and I didn’t care too much about individual ranks, but I did try to go for “double digit” ranks. For a detailed description on what my Nemesis is wearing currently, check this post.
3. Buy/Farm for the piece you want
Perhaps the most difficult bit about this journey. If you’ve read my guide to equipment sets, you’ll learn that HEROIC DUNGEON TICKETS ARE EXPENSIVE. Not to mention that you need to be decently equipped to begin with to farm there efficiently. Favorable heroic items are around 300~400m, whereas very good items are 500m and above. I’ve spent about 800m and more buying the set for my Nemesis, and spent few hundred million ED more for my other characters as well.
But this also means you can SELL the items you don’t need, but other characters might want. Study the option list carefully and you’ll see which option is better than the others. Check the market to study the pricing on some of the items and try to figure out why something’s cheap while another is expensive. You can land a great deal by stalking the market and try not to get ripped off. I almost bought my gloves for 700m but I bought it for 400m... (and couple of days later I saw a similar one go down to 300m ......)
As for Heroic Weapon...
I don’t recommend it, but that’s just because I’ve been a henir set user for all these years and I already had a high lvl weapon to use. But if you have no other option and you don’t want to use a +9 ammy on a Secret Dungeon weapon, then Heroic Weapon isn’t a bad option either, especially if you are trying to break the 160 Item Lv Requirement to enter Add’s Energy Fusion Theory dungeon. I recommend Add’s Apocalypse Type-Void, but seeing how the drop date of that weapon ...dropped, significantly, I’m not sure if I want to recommend that anymore. It is definitely a better investment. Be careful choosing the weapon. You’re going to want a high rank on your weapon, because you actually care about the stat, and not just the option.
Closing Thoughts...
Heroic Armor, wow, it changes the game entirely. Be aware that most of these options are DUNGEON ONLY. I’ve made sure to specify which of the options are dungeon only and which one is for both dungeon and PVP. They’re costly, they’re grindy, but they really do elevate your dungeon experience to a whole new level.
So I only recommend this grind fest for those of you who’ve JUST reached the end game content mark and is ready to go on to the next journey.
Please ask me any question, I’d be glad to help. Also, point out any mistake if you see one. Thank you for taking the time out to read my guide!
Before I ramble on about Heroic sets, I think it would be a great idea to just... talk about what would become your journey toward your holy grail sets for your end game content fantasy land.
I could begin by saying Heroic Set is the end of all end game gears, but... How? When? When do you shed your old items and spring into the new one?
I’ll break up your journey into 3 separate stages:
Noob (Lv 1~85)
Pre-Veteran (Lv 85~90)
Veteran (Lv 90~99)
Noob (Lv 1~85)
You’ve just started the game or you’re not quite Lv.85 yet. Speaking as a KR Els player, if you could get on the game when there are a lot of people online, it doesn’t matter what you are wearing. Just wear whatever the game storyline quest provides you, and try not to spend too much money buying new weapons or be obsessed about completing that awesome Altera elite dungeon set. Ignore when people say “oh man your armor is crap, no wonder you are doing terrible damage” because your armor seriously does not matter at this stage.
Your armor and weapon does matter if you happen to live on the opposite side of Korea and there’s never any player online by the time you decide to play the game yourself, because that means you will have to solo most of the dungeons and grind them all by yourself.
Try not to squander your resources on Pre-Secret Dungeon armor sets.
Pre-Veteran (Lv 85~90)
Now’s the time for you to start grinding Secret Dungeons more seriously. You should have copious amount of materials from trying to finish the Transcendent Quest. If not, then continue to do the daily quest. You shouldn’t worry too much about anything other than making sure you have enough of El Rewards. Everything else can be easily purchased and are surprisingly cheap (for KR’s standard), It does help if you have the Shared Bank, and have multiple characters around this level because you can run SD on multiple characters and make each character craft different parts of the SD armor set.
I have a full guide on which SD armor set you need for your character here.
Work on getting a decent weapon from this point on.
Veteran (Lv 90~99)
So you’ve been wearing your Secret Dungeon set for a while now, have an okay ish weapon, and you think you’re ready to go on to the next realm of awesomeness.
If you are a billionaire and can’t handle all the farming, then jump to my guide on heroic set here.
Welcome to the land of WHEN WILL THAT ARMOR DROP GDI
Now now, you can’t just skip Secret Dungeon sets and jump right into Heroic set, for two reasons:
You can’t take the beating in Heroic mode and survive
You won’t meet the Item Level Requirement (Lv 150)
I know Heroic Normal mode req is pretty low, but we won’t be discussing heroic normal mode here. Heroic Normal is an absolute waste of your time, waste of your precious tickets, and waste of your resources,
Before we spring into Heroic Hell mode and hack and slash at the enemies here are several things you need to be aware of. Most important aspect of heroic hell mode farming is TICKETS. These wonderful little tickets are the literal ticket to your heroic hell mode heaven. You need 3 each time to enter hell mode.
Here is how expensive they are, as of 10/08/16
DID I MENTION YOU NEED THREE OF THESE TO ENTER EVERY TIME
Stock them up and don’t spend them unwisely. By unwisely I mean don’t try to run the heroic hell mode on a character you are not 100% sure that you will be able to survive it and see the end of it. They drop very sparingly in Secret Dungeons and other places that isn’t henir. I really want to emphasize on the importance of bringing a good character to heroic hell mode, or you’re just going to waste your tickets and not get anything done. Seriously. I’m saying it for your sake.
Now there are four ways for you to get a heroic armor piece:
Getting it as a drop at the last boss of the heroic hell mode dungeon
Getting them from the reward chest for daily/weekly quest
Trade heroic hell mode materials at Glave
Buy them from people or market board
If you are poor, what you will be doing most of the time is the first three. Run heroic hell mode 3 times a day for a daily quest, and 10 times for the weekly quest. Daily quest reward gives you one reward box, and the weekly quest reward gives you 3 boxes.
I will dive into the actual heroic sets further in this post.
So as you may already know, there is an event going on to help level and improve your characters. For the first two weeks (until July 28) is the Growth phase, where we can collect Character Growth’s Runes, 30 of which can get us a permanent B-slot, a very useful item that gives you 4 additional skill slots. And it’s actually not that hard to get, it’ll just take some time for about 10 (of the 14) days. It is possible to get 6 Growth Runes a day, one in the mailbox after a 10-minute timer and 5 from event quests. The easiest ones to get are the timer one, the one for clearing two dungeons within your level range (I think the Burnt Forest’s Secret Space event dungeon counts if you wanna get two things done at once), and the one for defeating 50 field monsters within your level range. Get those 3 Growth Runes for 10 days and you’ll have your 30 for a permanent B-slot (or a nice pet, a quick slot extension, or 10 Sage Stones)~!
