The sounds of footsteps alerted Melech, causing him to whip around just as the blue tiefling caught up to him and wrap his arms around the other. It was not uncommon for this to happen, but always unexpected and surprising.

“Ver wait-!”

It was too little, too late. Melech was already taking steps back, trying to avoid falling down and bringing his party member down with him. Unfortunately for him, that was not what fate had planned for him or his friend.

He felt his feet slip out from under him and his rear hitting the ground. A jolt of pain ran up his lower back, and his tail curled up at the tip. He glanced up at Veryn who seemed like he was chuckling at the whole ordeal.
