Margaret Armstrong's How to Know the Wild Flowers
Concept for an elfic library in the woods I gave a try with the bot of Midjourney AI for create something that I have in mind.
Can I beg for more information about the elves library in your story? :D
You need only ask!
As I’ve mentioned, elves are relatively nomadic, not keen on staying in just one location for their entire lifespan. There is so much to go out and see and experience; so much to learn and share with the next generation! With that said, there is a forest on the western continent that the elves believe was where the first of their people came from. Those who are mages can feel the magic of the world around them. Being in this forest, however, is like an entirely different experience. There is something...more to it.
At least a thousand years ago, the elves built a small, humble building, offering for those who wished to come forward and record their travels and findings on parchment so that it could be maintained. Likewise, those with elven blood could come and read from these collections. Perhaps at one point, anyone had been welcome, but clearly, something happened to make the old ones change their mind. Perhaps someone had come and used the knowledge for evil purposes. Perhaps they sabotaged some records. Any who knew are now dead, so there is no way of knowing. However, this is one tradition that was always taken seriously.
Throughout the decades, more and more elven blooded people came to this small library. Eventually, they began to run out of room and construction had to be done to expand it. It has grown and grown, a beautiful piece of architecture built around the trees of the forest. It is nothing flashy, like golden or shimmering walls. It is a wooden building - made with trees from somewhere other than this forest - with a small entrance, the original entrance, that one walks through in order to get to the larger, more open and recently built parts. It has almost become something like a pilgrimage to elves and half-elves. At least at one point in their lives, they travel to the library to either leave some knowledge they learned in their lifetime or they sit within its peaceful walls and read from the perspective of those who came before them.
Aravae has made such a journey, more than once.
