Daybreakers (2009) + Letterboxd Reviews
So to add to my list of posts admiring Dafoe characters, I rewatched Daybreakers for the billionth time and I fell in love with Elvis once again.
I really wish we got to see more of this scruffy vampire hunter and a sequel! I loved the character development and world building.
Usually I don't enjoy vampire movies but Willem in this movie and then Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows are exceptions!

So I recently watched Daybreakers and I can honestly say that I both love the movie and love his character. I mean what's not to love about a hot guy with a crossbow?
(I mean that's hot 🥵🥵)
Anyway, I am planning on making a fic! It's just still in the drafting stage. But I can give you the premise that I've been working on.

Reader is being attacked by hungry vampires after she strayed from her survivor group. She is already bracing death, until she is saved by a man with a crossbow she can barely see in the dark. Once all of the vampires are taken care of, he walks up to her and she notices his messy brunette hair, slightly wet white shirt, and toned arms. He's holding the crossbow to his side and he smiles at her before he tries to help her up. However, he doesn't notice that she has a broken leg due to the attack at first. But when she can't get up, he puts his crossbow on his belt and picks her up. He brings her back to the safe house and takes it upon himself to nurse her back to health. And during that time, they both fall in love and he shows her how to use his spare crossbow to keep herself safe.
It's gonna be a slow burn fic, but I promise it will be worth the wait. 😉

Bobby Hicks, jesus christ almighty is this man handsome. He's so lovely and charming in this movie! I'm still beyond mad that he didn't recieve an Oscar for this, screw you Oscars! How dare you not award him one after so many perfect performances! He should have recieved one right after Platoon! WHY DIDN'T HE GET ONE AFTER AT ETERNITY'S GATE EITHER WTF????!!!
