               a moment to himself. that’s all he needs. a moment away from the sounds of clashing swords and the nauseatingly sweet smell of human blood spilled everywhere. a vicious pull of temptation he suppresses with everything he has. he lets out a shaky huff of breath, reaching into the pouch at his hip for a vial of krul’s blood to quench himself with. ready to pop off the cap and down it with haste when----

               the crunch of boots against rubble-covered ground behind him, picked up only thanks to enhanced senses. he whips his head around to face the noise, hand at the hilt of his sword just in case. though the thought of slicing through them, allowing blood to flow so freely in front of him while he’s in such a state, brings another wave of nausea. only if they attack first, if there’s no other choice. 

              for now, he can only wait for their approach.

There's a pair of arm that slowly sneak around the boy's shoulder. Hesitant hug from behind as the girl silently approached his ear. "Thank you.... for last time." Elyon whisper before her forehead bumped lightly on his shoulder. The girl for once finding comfort in being close to someone. ( imma fluffy insomnia back at u :3)

The raven had been up for what felt like hours and honestly, it was taking it’s toll on him. That much was clear if one were to look at the dark bags underneath his eyes. Ever since he had come into contact with Sore-no-Yo and learned a bit more about Elyon… he was determined to find out what he could, even if that meant reading endless amounts of research books. He would even sell his soul to the devil, not that he kinda hadn’t already, but even so. Emerald hues were squinted at the many words listed down the pages of a book he’d discovered, explaining about things such as night terrors. If he remembered that night Elyon woke up in fear correctly, that must have been a night terror. He was sure of it.

Yet the sudden feeling or arms around his shoulders certainly was enough to startle him, causing him to jump and fumble with the book in his hands, before finally letting out a sigh once he’d realigned his grip. Strands of raven hair were in a more tousled mess than usual, showing that he must have been grabbing his head quite a bit. At first he was a bit confused as to who had just snuck up behind him, but hearing that voice that he loved so much was more than enough for him to figure it out. The breath against his ear made his cheeks flush with a light shade of pink, and the head against his shoulder makes him smile.

“You don’t have to thank me, it’d do it again you know?” His words are softer than a whisper when he speaks, placing the book down against the desk he was sitting at. He really did mean those words. “You’re more than worth it to me. It’s been a long time since I’ve had someone who needed my help.” Yuichiro pauses for a few moments, taking in a deep breath before exhaling. Turning his body to the side just enough to wrap both of his arms around the blond as he lifted her up and over himself, just to place her in his lap, giving her a bright smile. “Now, how about we both head to bed instead of staying up? Don’t you think that sounds like a nice idea? We can even cuddle reeeeaaaal close together for warmth.” With that, the raven stood up with a small grunt, holding his girlfriend bridal style as he pushed his chair in with his foot. Honestly, he wasn’t too sure if he’d ever find out the truth about Elyon, or if he would even be able to help her. Though one thing was for certain, nothing would ever stop him from loving her, even if she became a so-called monster. Even if she had to betray him and kill him at some point. He would just smile and tell her ‘I love you’ just like he always did.

“Oh, my apologies. Did you come here to meet someone? I’m afraid Ren’s not here at the moment, but I can keep you entertained until he returns.” Of course, the vampire was expecting some kind of hostile reaction from her, as she was a soldier. What business did Ren have with a soldier anyhow? Certainly he knew better than to associate with them? Perhaps he wasn’t as sharp as he’d previously thought.
