L o a d i n g . . .
As soon as she transitioned to Elysium, she knew something was off again. There was that strange sensation along her right side, a slightly painful sort of pins and needles tingling where her avatar data flickered, forming a limb that wasn’t there in real life.
“I thought we fixed this,” she muttered, poking at the unfamiliar appendage with her left hand. It didn’t feel right; it felt like a glitch. Cyberspace didn’t know how to translate her body correctly.
It was a prototype project, she knew that. Aster had gotten them in as beta testers, she knew that too. It didn’t mean it wasn’t uncomfortable as all hell.
She squeezed the foreign arm, shuddering a little at the feeling it gave her. Last time they’d come, Aster had figured out a rudimentary patch to get rid of it. Apparently it didn’t stick with repeated logins.
“What the hell am I supposed to do with this useless hunk of flesh!?”
