💃🏻 weekend mood, pandemic edition 🚫 I don't dance at home, it's difficult on carpet. I don't dance at my partner's, the floor shakes even when I'm just walking to the kitchen in a normal way. In both cases, I'd feel like a jerk for playing loud music late at night and stomping around. Sorry, I'm a stomper. I realized on NYE that I can't dance "softly" - its awkward. It's all about movement of energy and connecting my brain back into my body. That's the point of a dance club. Flashy lights, loud music, and stompy dancing in a space safely reserved for such... where you aren't irritating your neighbors. (Well, unless you're at Mohawk) Although alcohol is the main focus of the industry, people forget that bars provide this very important service. As a non-drinker, this is literally the only reason I went out every weekend. EVERY. Sunday. Some people get anxious if they don't go for a run every day, I get anxious when I haven't danced in a week, much less the 10 months my home bar has been closed. That's [anxiety×40] Anyway, I miss dancing. #austinwillsurvive #keepaustinweird #elysiumaustin #sunday80snight #elysiumsunday80snight #imissdancing #atxnightlife (at Elysium Austin) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKHKZ1uF1YX/?igshid=1t3y7swmd75pv
