★·.·£ ᴰᴶ 🆀ᵘⁱᵈ £·.·★ This week I lost someone who was like a brother to me, James. We were both hairdressers by day, but DJs by night at #ElysiumATX. He had Tuesdays with a genre hopping night called Ｅｖｅｒｙｔｈｉｎｇ. ⚡ I had the honor of doing his hair a couple of times. The first time was the asymmetrical #uvreactive highlight with striped etching on the side (slides 3 & 4), the second was this multitonal green mohawk (slides 1 & 2). On the second occasion, it was days before he moved back to Colorado and so the color/cut was completely my choice, he said. It's great when anybody says this, but when another more experienced hairdresser says this to you, its an honor. ⚡ So what did I do? I dyed him the same neon green I had in my hair at the time (we were brethren after all) and stenciled / etched a Texas in the side of his head so that when he got back to Colorado, his friends would know we had literally left our mark on him! ⚡ The last time I saw him (last slide) was visiting Denver in 2016 to see The Cure tour. It was an amazing experience and I'm 100% okay with this being our last memory together, even though I wish we'd had more since. He was a bright and beautiful soul who was always positive... like almost irritatingly positive.
