One of the players I'm most excited to see drafted is Elyssa Biederman, a RW for Colgate who finished last season with 44 points (but has had two 50+ ECAC seasons in her career). She's only 5'1 so I'm interested to see how teams weigh her high production and speed versus her size. If/when she's drafted, she'll tie Boulier (MTL) for the shortest player in the league.
Here's a great highlight reel from Kyle Cushman! She's a very fun player to watch— fast, tenacious, great hands. Could be a great secondary scorer for any team in the league.
She's also a Detroit native and worked with Manon Rhéaume growing up, but with Detroit (allegedly) trading their first round pick to Vegas and the expansion teams probably (???) drafting last, I think it's unlikely that Biederman goes to Detroit (kind of a bummer for her because she was really excited when PWHL Detroit got announced, but not a bummer for me because I already have beef with that team).
Kyle Cushman has her ranked 14th in his draft ranking, Ian Kennedy had her at 13th, Tyler Kuehl has her at 18th. It's hard to make any real predictions without knowing the draft order, but I think she'll likely be gone by midway through the second round. But who knows, honestly. It'll depend pretty heavily on how much teams decided they value size + what their needs are when the expansion process is said and done.
