@hamiltontigers
No one cares but I hope the Draft follows the pattern of: Gold Plan Teams (Vancouver, Seattle, NY, Toronto) then a random lottery for the order of the expansion and playoff teams.
I can see a world where it's Gold Plan -> Expansion -> Playoff teams. However the ranking of the expansion teams and the playoff teams would need to be determined, which seems like a whole ordeal, so I hope something about it gets posted before next week good Lord.
I do think the expansion teams order should be determined by random lottery but I don't think playoff teams should be as well. it's not hard to figure out what order those teams should be (Boston > Minnesota > Ottawa > Montreal)
I think it would feel unfair if say Montreal got 5th pick but San Jose got 12th.
if you're a Seattle fan I can understand being upset about Knight especially when you guys lost 3 other players in phase 2. but idk personally I think it is kinda cool that she was able to get around an EFO to play for the team she wanted to.
like honestly I might just be anti-EFOs. I think it sucks forcing athletes to play for teams they don't want to play for. players having agency in who they play for is good!
ohhhhhhhhh folks….
that seems really fair, pwhl!
The salaries of players last season for the Hamilton team so far:
Brianne Jenner - $122,003
Kayle Osborne - $39,000
Alina Müller - $95,000
Nicole Gosling - $50,000
Emily Clark - $126,090
Which is $432,093 total. I think it is safe to assume that Hamilton definitely paid them more than this.
Last season teams spent around $1.3-1.4M in total. So Hamilton has probably already used a big chunk of their salary cap on these five
San Jose
Rory Guilday - $50,000
Anne Cherkowski - $52,000
Corinne Schroeder - $60,000
Kristin O'Neill - $86,872
Total: $248,872
Detroit
Cayla Barnes - $70,000
Britta Curl-Salemme - $51,000
Hannah Bilka - $70,000
Daryl Watts - $59,000
Total: $243,000

The countdown to the draft is on 👀 Get to know @/badgerwhockey's Laila Edwards, one of the top prospects in this year's draft class!
This is what it is like being on tumblr rn btw
highest paid player in the pwhl made 16% of the nhl league minimum last season btw
apparently Detroit already used their EFO which makes me think that maybe Abby might be staying in Montreal
