the style was inspired by the lineless lasso tool jumalanpelko style! love the comic and the art and wanted to try a version of it :)
lore time below if you’re interested!
these are the four gods in The Dark in the Dawn. They are present in myths throughout the story—meaning we will be learning about them in the comic too dw
basically each god is connected to each Kingdom. there were four kingdoms (Fire Earth Sea and Sky), with Fire being the strongest and biggest. things happened that I don’t want to spoil, and now it’s a bit different. TDitD takes place in the Fire Kingdom after said Things.
each god corresponds with their element and Kingdom. Arsu (top right, pronounced like ‘are-soo’) is the god of Fire, and is worshipped the most in the Fire Kingdom (all Kingdoms acknowledge all four gods, though) Arsu in mythology is the eldest and strongest of the four, who are siblings. she is said to be stubborn and quick to anger but not unjust, and her followers tend to reflect those values. the other four are Ugren (top left, pronounced like ‘oo-grin’) the second oldest and god of Earth, Torris (bottom left, pronounced like ‘tore-is’) the second youngest and god of the Sea, and Elysus (bottom right, pronounced like ‘uh-lee-sus’) the youngest, god of the Sky.
cats who live in each Kingdom have at least a small amount of power (called Blessing) because of the patron god of their Kingdom. these are usually pretty weak but in the case of those with royal or noble blood the powers can get a lot stronger (they are based on genetics—it was bred in to powerful lineages. if a cat is half-Kingdom or Kingdomless they have no blessing) Dawn’s power is the most extreme example, called fireborn. that will also be explained in comic.
if you read all this i hope it makes some semblance of sense! trying to leave some stuff out too so if you don’t quite get it don’t worry
