Just saw your post about questions for each D&D class and yeah i agree with you, worst thing you can do to get people to try other systems apart from 5e is dunking on it. Despite what the wizard corp do, lot of people who are into 5e really like the game and identify with it and it's system so it comes really insulting when people come like "hey, you like 5e? You should play this other system because 5e sucks a**". But also, you should try Fabula Ultima, is really good and very fun, there's a whole section where you worldbuid with your players during session 0!
Hey! I appreciate the thought, but my personal policy is that if my first introduction to a TTRPG is via any form of smug douchery whatsoever I will not upon principle give it my money or time unless someone I personally know recommends it independently. I know in my heart this won't have any measurable effect whatsoever, but even if it makes just one person stop and say "hey, perhaps my approach towards recommending indie games is condescending, unpleasant and counterproductive," that's one less person being a dick on the internet and that's enough for me.
