The Blazing Hero; Ember Pyre (灼熱のヒーロー：エンバーパイア) is the No. 8 Hero, a part of the iconic hero couple Eclipsing Inferno, the most popular rock star in all of Japan, and, eventually, a part-time teaching assistant for the Hero Course at U.A. High School.

Before forming his agency with his wife, Ember Pyre was a sidekick of Ingenium, who was his mentor, and a member of Team Idaten. His hyping up the then-Turbo Hero via music led to the creation of his early music career and his “pop-up concerts”.

He made his official debut as a solo hero when he crashed Endeavor’s mission and arrested the villains himself, all while playing Firestorm Bass.

As a rock star and pro-hero, Ember Pyre would fight both villains and play his music. If there is a villain rampaging, it is guaranteed that Ember Pyre would be there with Firestorm Bass. Despite this, he never failed to catch the villain and save people.

He made a lot of hero friends, especially with his and Marisa’s former classmates in U.A. He also made friends with other top heroes, such as Hawks and Ryukyu.

Despite his popularity, he is a rather polarizing figure. Many in the younger generations love him as those in the older generations have mixed feelings towards him. Many young adults, teenagers, and even kids enjoy his music and its themes, which consist of going against the status quo. That in particular makes Ember Pyre controversial in the older generation since they want to keep the status quo. Also, there is a lot of spite towards his father in the lyrics. That caused controversy among Endeavor’s die-hard fans.

Firestorm Bass: It is a mechanized electric bass guitar that is also part flamethrower. Not only does it help Ember Pyre to control his flames, but it also plays some sick notes. 

Ignition Gauntlets: This is a pair of gauntlets made of heat-resistant alloys and flame-retardant padding. They stabilize Ember Pyre’s unstable Blueflame, acting almost like a throttle for his quirk if he can’t use Firestorm Bass. Without them, his fire risks flaring unevenly and scorching his own skin. With them, he can direct output into sharp jets, controlled bursts, or even steady streams.

Thermal Equalizer Core: This is a compact cooling unit strapped to his back. It monitors Touya’s body temperature in real-time. If his internal heat surpasses safe thresholds, the core releases controlled bursts of cooling gas. 

Ember Flight Thrusters: These are attached to his boots, as you can see in the photo. They allow him to hover in the air, which is technically flying, along with quick dashes and divebomb attacks. This goes perfectly well with Moonbeam’s Crescents, which carry her in the air, and allow them to do the Eclipsing Inferno Ultimate Moves. 

Blue Hell Jacket: It may look like it is for style, but it actually has a practical use. This is Ember Pyre’s iconic fire-resistant jacket that absorbs excess heat and prevents his skin from burning under prolonged exposure. It also funnels flames outward through slits and vents, so his Blueflame visibly dances across the coat without consuming it.

Btw, may I ask if Touya has a favorite season cause it got me thinking on his ice resistance again and he would enjoy winter and with Fuyumi being the opposite that she would love summer or spring. It’s just my personal opinion but what do you think?

Touya's favorite season is winter, as he has no problems with the cold and loves playing in the snow.

Fuyumi's favorite season is spring. It was like a feeling of relief from the cold, and she loves to see the flowers flourishing.

Sneak Peek of Thaw of the Ice Mirror Chapter 7

It was the early evening in the Eclipsing Inferno Agency. Touya was in their infirmary as Dr. Yuemon Shigyou, their scruffy burn specialist, was checking his arm. His left wrist and upper forearm were getting a new gauze paired with the doctor’s healing salt Quirk, along with having antibiotic ointment applied. As Touya was deep into his thoughts, the pain brought him out of it.

“Ouch! That hurts!” Touya exclaimed as he pulled his arm away. This caused Shigyou to roll his eyes. Even after dealing with this for about five years, Touya Todoroki still acted like a baby in the infirmary. 

“Hey, kiddo, be lucky that I’m the one patching you up after Recovery Girl kissed your burns down to first-degree or else you’d be benched for a month.” Shigyou chastised as he put on gauze. Touya hated the doctor’s lectures and felt like he was talking down to him like a child. 

“Tch. Lucky me, huh? Remind me to write you a love song on my Firestorm Bass while my skin’s still sizzling. I’ll call it ‘Ode to the Guy Who Rubs Salt on Burnt Skin and Calls It Healing.’” Touya snarkily retorted.
