The store had closed some time ago. The sun had already disappeared behind the horizon, and a faint scent of the hot chocolate Dipper had brought with him still lingered in the air. In the background, you could hear the gentle drumming of raindrops on glass. Otherwise, the bookstore was quiet. But it wasn't an eerie silence. It was pleasant, warm, and inviting.
The enthusiastic »We're going to rearrange the shelves today and make room for some new books« had turned into something completely different. Willow and Dipper had settled down in the reading corner of the store. It was only meant to be a short break, but the hot chocolate had made them sluggish, and instead of putting the books away, they had read them. Until Willow fell asleep.
Now her voice rang out. To Dipper, she still sounded a little sleepy. ❝ i swear i just blinked. was that a nap? ❞
He looked up from the book he was reading and couldn't help but laugh softly. “Actually, yes. Was it that exhausting here today? You seemed like you needed it. That's why I didn't wake you up.” He closed the book and put it aside. “Did you have any interesting dreams?” He raised an eyebrow. A gentle smile had settled on his lips. “Maybe the books whispered something in your ear while you were sleeping that followed you into your dream.” | @emberfawn
