I love love love talking about my stories but I’m also pretty afraid someone will see my stuff and like…take my ideas? :/ :/
I mean not that my stuff is so great that all the ideas are worth being stolen but what if they do and it’s better than what I can make. This is why I’ve been kind of cagey about describing the plot and the character arcs and stuff in Anomaly…
How do the rest of you guys deal with that?
why is it always, when I tell people about my progress on my novel, i’ll be like “I’ve written 93k words on my first draft!”
and then their response: “…uh, cool! How many pages is that?”
like??? Idk? Depends on the fucken font size? Page layout? Why is page number more tangible for some people to picture than word count?

sorry for the silence. been figuring out some writing stuff, as usual.
trying to decide if, for Anomaly, the first book in the series should be:
I start on book 2, which has arguably the more exciting plot but skips the very premise the story was built upon
I start on book 1, which has a weaker plot (or one I just haven't built much of yet?), but has the laboratory premise I started with
sigh. I'm sure if I keep at it the plot for book 1 will be just as exciting, but at the moment it is a slosh.

To “celebrate” (ugh) Jaith getting his own plotline in book 1 of Anomaly when he previously only appeared at the very end, here’s a pic of younger Jaith at the climactic moment of book 1, new arm and all. Thanks Jaith for the extra work! Thanks to you I’m outlining/writing three plotlines at once. You’re lucky you’re an interesting character.

February Progress
Sorry I haven’t been posting much - I’ve just been super focused trying to get this first draft done! All of my goals ride on completing my first draft so I’m trying really hard to get it complete by the first quarter of 2024.
As you can see February had a bit of a slow start due to unforseen family issues cropping up, but it took off in no time. Looks like I got about 25k words written, which is only 5k less than January. Awesome!
Bad news is that my updates will continue to be slow until I get this done. I’m prioritizing ahead of all my other goals. The good news is that I just started Act 3 sooo we’re on the home stretch now! Yay! But it needs some outlining because it doesn’t have a satisfying ending yet…
Ups and downs but I’ll get through it. Okay March let’s go!!!!
been getting so much work done but Anomaly has changed a lot. So much. I have to redo my writer page introducing my WIP because my main character was renamed and another main character was added and now Jaith has a plotline in the first book where he didn’t before and wow so much to do okay back to work bye
last night I designed the concept for a new superhero - she's a member of the gang Solstice and her aesthetic is all about red, blood, healing, body systems, etc
super excited to draw her. her alias is Suture which sounds sick
