@emblembound || Berkut & Clair
It had rained a lot as of late. Set back training schedules. Deliveries. Truly the raining season did set the kingdom back quite a bit, but they had all prepared for it. As they always did. But Clair could never prepare herself for the aches and pains that her legs would experience during that time. No tonics or herbs would ever help to quell it. She would just need to deal with it until it the pain rendered her immobile for a few days.
At least Alm would be understanding of it. As would Celica. The pair would give her as much time as she needed, time she hated taking off. She’d worked so hard to be a knight in her youth and now some rain and weakening legs were keeping her from her duty.
“Would you mind walking me back to the stables?”
She had spent the chunk of the day with Berkut, something that was starting to become a common occurrence. And it certainly hadn’t gone unnoticed by others. Clair had heard quite the outlandish rumors in regards to her and Berkut. Even her brother had fallen prey to them and comforted her about her relationship with the fallen prince. If that hadn’t been the most awkward conversation of her life...
She’d had to tell Clive far too many times that she and Berkut were simply friends and nothing more. At least...she thought of them as friends. How Berkut saw them, she didn’t know.
“I think,” Clair winced as her right knee buckled, but was quick to correct herself and prayed the other did not comment on it “I think I’ve had my fill of this rain and should return home.”
