This week we present an embossed-paper book cover featuring several large felines from the poetry collection The Temple. Sacred Poems and Private Ejaculations by the seventeenth-century poet George Herbert. This is a facsimile reprint of the 1633 first edition published in the late nineteenth century by Baker & Taylor in New York.

It was not uncommon in the 1890s for books to be covered with wallpaper, which this embossed paper may be.
