I love this sentiment @Regran_ed from @fromyourheartsperspective - Sometimes we get so focused on the light that we forget that the dark serves a purpose. I’ve been reflecting (way too much...I’m done for 2018!!!) and I’ve recognized that the tragedies in my life helped me to grow. Without them my heart wouldn’t be same. I experienced true darkness but I needed those experiences to open up my soul. I needed to be completely to see the light. Each step of the way while healing, a work of art on the canvas was being revealed. Each brush stroke crafting a masterpiece. It’s never truly finished, a little green here, maybe a stroke of gray there. A true abstract because uncertainties happen and we adjust. So, instead of trying to see the finished piece, enjoy the masterpiece that you are creating. Be grateful for the ability to have the experience and be in the moment. We lose sight of the beauty around us because we are so focused on relieving our past which isn’t possible or plotting every single step of our future. They can both be diversions for avoiding pain. Focus on the healing, stand in it and grow.
