The port of Bastia (Corsica) C.B., 1840 Embroidered port scene (pencil sketch and shading?). The cloth appears to be silk. Stitched area: 8" x 5 3/8" Period Frame: 10 1/8" 7 3/8" Not many naive embroidered scenes out there for a comparable. A remarkable piece of folkart in excellent condition.
