Sometimes it was nice to simply get to BE with another person, and when it came to kissing and pulling each other close, nothing quite said affectionate like a good, old fashioned Eskimo kiss. Eve felt her heartbeat quicken in her chest as their foreheads pressed together, feeling relief settle in that for the moment there was nothing pressing they needed to do. For just a little while, they could enjoy each other's company, and she could claim a few more kisses.

"Would it be safe for me to assume you'd like to spend the afternoon with me then? It has been such a SLOW day that I could probably rearrange my busy schedule to play hooky from healer finding duty." After all, tadpole or not, it was still important that they live their lives.

Eve wasn't expecting such a DECLARATION to fall from his lips, but it makes her smile nevertheless. Red tints green cheeks as she blushes, moving a little closer to him as she starts to linger back from the others. Quite bold to do it while they're walking along, but it's most welcome.

Eve hadn't expected to be pulled into Garreth's lap, but she happily made herself comfortable, running her fingers through his hair. If he wanted her attention, then he had it, and she leaned in, nuzzling his nose with her own. Then, slowly, she pressed her lips to his and let herself enjoy the moment with a soft, loving kiss.

"Did you miss me or something?" Eve asked him slowly, kissing him a couple more times before she pulled back to have a look at him. He was beautiful in this light, and she pondered his answer before she pressed a tender kiss to his nose. "If you need me to pay you more attention, I'm more than happy to."

Explaining over and over again how she had no control over her surges had become part of her repertoire of repeated sentences, carefully formed and worn out after years of saying them again. And again. And again. The speech had been perfected, adding and subtracting—the last specifically regarding her safety and the one of those around her. ‘Every spell could be my last, and yours by extension’ was methodically added to her explanation, and then scratched, only to go through the same cycle in repetition.

Eirwen felt the surge take over her body, unable to stop the pulsing magic her abilities couldn’t manage. A huge ball of fire, centered on herself? A song only she could hear, constantly drumming inside her ears? Something burst out of her, like tendrils sinking inside the ground, growing at a rapid pace with her pain as their nutrient and her tears as fertilizer.

When her eyes opened to see the damage, and in front of her lay a field of flowers. Dark purple dahlias, so dark they looked black, and white orchards extended in a circle perfect around her—effectively poisoning allies and foes alike.

The one closest to her was Garreth, and she showed him a smile that was so devious that dared to question her sanity, taking their situation into consideration.

“I do not control the surges. The flowers are poisonous, you plant-lover, so be a kind walking green house and deal with the shocking consequences of my own actions”
