Eve finds herself sighing loudly as she brushes herself off, having just had a nice little magical mishap with wild magic. If anyone understood that, it was Atreion, but she knew that he probably didn't get as embarrassed as she did about it. She already felt behind having any control over the magic she now knew she possessed, and to never have control of the surges?

She could scream.

"Honestly, I give up sometimes," she admits as she moves to the river to rinse off some dirt and deal with the thorns that might still be in her feet. "This will teach me not to wear shoes..."

He's got his sketchbook in his lap, mid sketch of the landscape when Eve lays down near him. He tilts his head as he listens to her. He knows that feeling well; when the stresses of terrible situations trigger the desire to run away. The fact that Eve is still here is a testament to her character, and probably only partially is because of the tadpole and needing to stay protected by that little trinket of Shadowhearts.

"You did well." he says after a moment, letting her vent her frustrations first. "Despite any complications, you did well." Things go well when he talks to people because he's perfected the 'do not argue with me about this' look. Perks of being a Dad (and a werewolf alpha, he supposed.) but sometimes people do ignore that look. The gall. "I'm better at telling people what to do -- not so much convincing. Sometimes people are opposed to that. I don't know why." his tone is light, the corner of his lip pulled up in a half smile to show it's a joke. "You should take your rest. You've earned it."

Honestly, she needed that praise more than he knows, because sometimes she feels way in over her head. She just wants to solve this for all of them, but there's so many intricate little details they have to deal with and sometimes it's overwhelming. Especially for someone that isn't as well versed in the likes of what's actually out there in the world, having spent so much time in the High Forest and only venturing out for certain diplomatic excursions with her parents present. She's quite aware she's old in years and young in experience.

"See, I don't think anyone would let me order them about," she laughs, shaking her head a little bit. "Especially in our little group. Astarion and Lae'zel would laugh in my face, and I don't see Gale taking it too well being ordered about by a sorcerer who isn't even 'studied in magic'." She's mocking him for a moment, but only because it annoys her that she was never given a chance to be studied in magic. She quite likes Gale and without their teasing, she doesn't think he'd pay her any mind. "You'll have to teach me how to convincingly give orders one of these days. Not that I'll have the courage to order anyone about..."

There was a twitch of an ear, as if she thought it wasn't working properly and had tried to shake it out. Nimue didn't expect to be invited along. That was what this was, wasn't it? An invitation to come and meet Eve's family and circle. She would be wanted there? Liked? Loved? It was a way to stall. To not have to think about the path forward for just a little while longer. And in good company.

"I wouldn't want to impose---" Was she imposing? No, she'd been invited. Would the family think she was imposing? She couldn't know, not without meeting them. "You really think they would like me?" Her hands were fidgeting, nervous but hopeful. It would be nice. Calm. "I'll come with you, if you want me to."

"Trust me, it wouldn't be imposing. I know it might have been daunting in the Grove with their view of outsiders, but I didn't grow up to fear them all that much," she admits to her, shaking her head a little. "I suppose they were wary of Mages due to all sorts of war politics, but as you can see, my Archdruid of a father ended up with a daughter that is in fact a Mage..."

That was a long story in and of itself, but at the heart of it, what mattered was that Eve knew that her parents loved her regardless of that. Perhaps they were still a little wary of mages, but it wasn't to the same extent, and they welcomed friends. They had long forgiven her for her choice of lover in the past, and if anything, Eve knew they would just be happy to see her home.

"I promise you, they'll be happy to meet you, and I want you there."

"Exciting is a word for it." she says with a laugh. It did seem like there was always something going on in the city. It's hard to find a moments peace - especially if you're near Sorcerous Sundries. She's contemplated, more than once, giving into her nature and killing those performers. Frankly, it'd be a service to the city. She'd be called a hero. Again. "I know what you mean though. I grew up in a Library Monastary. The most exciting things that happened was when some random wizards would visit and my sister would drag me along with her to see what she could steal from their pockets." A fond smile finds its place on her face at the mention of her sister.

"Weird is the best type of people to find yourself with. All my favourite travelling companions have been so very weird. Remind me sometime to tell you about the turnip-obsessed gnome inventor I travelled with." her smile grew into a grin and she gently nudges Eve's shoulder. "Not to mention my current group of travelling companions. Some of then are quite odd, you know?"

"Trust me, the only thing I wanted other than a cure, was to go to a bookstore." Eve admits with a nod, holding up her fingers as she ticks off her 'To-Do List'. "Find Orin and Gortash, deal with Cazador, deal with Voss, find Shadowheart's parents and deal with every other little thing we have to do...and all I want to do is go shopping for books and then hole up in my tent to read whatever I can carry. I've been saving up to buys books." Well...that was kind of true. Eve just had trouble spending her gold, so she carried that and potions in her pack. "I just don't think I realized just how many people there were in the city..."

At her jest at their little band of misfits, Eve can't help but chuckle a little bit. "I think we're all weird in our own little way. I'll admit, I didn't warm up to all of them at first. Gale and I butted heads for the first bit with his need to always remind me that he was the most magically inclined in the room, but when I started stealing his books to read, he started pretending he didn't know and now I appreciate him." She smiles at that and then glances around the camp. "I think that Lae'zel and Astarion still think I'm too soft, but Astarion doesn't complain when I offer him blood. Karlach and Wyll were the easiest to talk to, though I think me realizing his eye was a sending stone right off the bat made him throw some walls up. Shadowheart...is quite dear to me, but I feel as though she and I struggle every once in a while, especially when it came to the Shadow Cursed Lands--I'm glad those are behind us." She hated it there, and she's sure they all know by now as she was not quiet about it. "And you--well, don't tell them, but you're my favorite."
