to add to it (i'm the one asking about emery pov)
tbh from the art, i had crazy crack unfounded wrong expectations (again it was just me picking from the art before i read the story, not critique of the actual story i swear), for example:
1- i genuinely thought Emery to be a cruel man, maybe even crueler than Tuashin, like if taushin has reasons, Emery does it for ego & self interest. if taushin has limits? Emery doesn't. --also Taushin look intimidating, and emery doesn't, and emery depend on that 2- i thought emery to be more morally dubious to totally corrupted, but he is socially smart, he does NOT announce it. 3- Emery make tushin worse on purpose, enabling, lying, mentally eroding etc 4- since i saw so many art with emery and taushin together, i thought again emery rubs elbows with taushin for power & to socially climb, so he stays in taushin good graces & favor by playing the intimacy card (i picked that from the arts were they're near kissing, undressing, touching etc) 5- basically i thought Emery has a parasitic relationship with Taushin, and Emery is actually very aware of what he is doing. 6- i thought Emery would be like a menace to the harem, or even to Galdia stability in general 7- in general i imagined emery to be very very opportunist scumbag with a pretty face in a pretty clothes.
if it's not obvious i loooooove main characters who are very much the scum of society, merciless, irredeemable, harsh, who use' cruel to be kind'- excuse kind of characters. so it ALLLLL projections lmao
BTW isn't soooooo fun that Emery De Everec is from DORNE, and i was like omg Dorne from ASOIAF DORNE???!! (my favorite region in Westeros)
