I decided to do a little investigation. I found out that if I deem a character uncategorized / not within a specific world, they are more likely to be insane.
Green is safe, they're generally nice and doesn't cause much trouble unless they have to.
Yellow is questionable, they did some stuff but nothing too crazy.
And then red.
Mentally deranged murderer, mentally deranged occasional murderer, straight up monster, mass murderer and serial killer.
Honestly, I keep thinking about how Carmen could've been very 'human'.
Since he was created, he was taught and made to love. He looks human, he sounds human, and he acts human. It is genuinely unfortunate that the person he loved so much never properly shown him the beauty of it.
He's taught that pain IS love. All the experiments done to him was for his own good, all the beatings were just him being shown that people care, every single time his body gives up is just proof he is loved.
It's also why I think he wouldn't be over his old friend(? Partner? Associate? He never knew, nobody made it clear for him, or tried to explain the difference). They were about to ABANDON him, so why can't he try to convince them otherwise with the only way he knows how to love.
Despite his human characteristics, he will never be one. He is made to withstand more than the human body could, there's no doubt the concept of death would be foreign to him. So why did his love hurt them? Why did it leave him alone, hunted down?
He still loved them.
I do think he has learned what 'death' is, yet still can't seperate between genuine affection and violence. He just thinks that death is a byproduct of love. But due to him getting problems for his 'violent tendencies', he tends to be the one who expects the hurt. Some sort of fucked up masochism. He won't complain, yell, fight back, or anything... unless the person wants him to.
He just wants to love.
If he was given the opportunity to understand what love is before everything, I think he would be one of my sweetest, affectionate ocs.
