EMHEYO  BAHABBA (EMBAH)

DATE OF BIRTH: 1937 PLACE OF BIRTH: Port-of-Spain, Trinidad CAREER:  A self-taught artist, "Embah" Bahabba's interest in art grew out of his experience as an employee of the Trinidad & Tobago Government Printery, and as a writer, actor, and set-designer with the Hilltop Group which he helped form in 1957. With a strong emphasis on Trinidad's folklore, all of Bahabba's paintings have an accompanying poem. His art exhibits include: 1980 - American Center, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad 1985 - Trinidad Art Society Exhibition, Trinidad 1986 - "Caribbean Art Now," Commonwealth Institute, London, England
