The only problem was, she wasn't mentally healing. She was broken, and she was begging for death. Which was why they put her into a coma, that lasted for a week. Once they gave her the antidote, they'd monitor her closely for a day or two, get her to talk to the therapist, Emilie, whoever else she wanted to see, and then determine if she was better off put into another one.
Before she opened her eyes, she could hear Emilie. How long had it been since she had seen her love? A month, maybe. Definitely two or three weeks. Too long. Far, far too long. When her eyes slipped open, the first thing she noticed was how numb she felt. The drugs they had given her were strong enough to numb the pain that was all over her body, leaving her, herself, numb. Staring at the ceiling, she identified the other voices, which were outside the room. Emilie, her sister, her mother. Some others she didn't know. A nurse appeared in her view and she recoiled away, squeezing her eyes shut again. There was no where to go, restraints were on her wrists, keeping her on the bed.
The nurse touched Hayden's forehead, before turning to go get Emilie. If Hayden could see herself, she'd be horrified. Dead-eyed, bald, bandaged, bruised. Tubes all over, feeding her, helping her breath, monitoring her. She only tilted her head when she heard Emilie come in, her eyes following the other girl.
