Sick Day Comfort Food - Some Like it CHEESEY

Personally I find cheesey a little heavy when I’m ill, but I certainly see how it can appeal as a comfort food (usually melted or hot). 

Pasta with only butter and cheese was one of my go-to super quick easy meals as a student, usually had when deadlines loomed and I just needed comforting sustenance to get me through the next 3000 words. 

This selection also showcases the nostalgia and family link to a lot of our most comforting meals. What our Grandparents made us are forever mentally associated with that love and care, although no matter how hard I personally try, no meat pie I ever make is quite as good as the one my nan used to make.

Sick Day Comfort Food - Cereal

There’s something about stodge isn’t there? Something comforting. And I think one sub-genre of stodgy food is cereals, particularly porridges. I also like the sweet kick when ill. I only have sugar in my tea these days when I’m unwell. And nothing makes me crave frosted wheats like a week of being under the weather. 

What are your favourite cereals? What are the most comforting?
