I've been planning a small project and wanted to draw out all the characters!
Caleb Redd: A young Witch who is later employed by the King of Pasdenuit
Camilla Mourning: Caleb's Human mother whose village was ravaged by disease, narrowly avoiding death by the sudden appearance of the mysterious Doctor Redd
Marbuer "Mary" Redd: A Demon posing as a traveling Human doctor. He saved the village of Hogsden and stayed longer than he should've after meeting and falling in love with Camilla.
Emily Wake: A clairvoyant Witch who uses The Disasters as her chance to escape persecution in Pasdenuit
Kai Sigu: A shapeshifter who appeared mysteriously in the Temple of Souls at the height of The Disasters. She has no memories of her life, but has a strong bond with Sei and a connection to the God Tri.
Sei Kangae: A greater youkai who appeared mysteriously in the Temple of Souls at the height of The Disasters. He has no memories of his life, but has a strong bond with Kai and a connection to the Goddess Wo.
Thoughts on Marbuer now that he's a new character:
While I have a lot of quiet characters, I would say most of them are quiet out of being stoic/distrusting/reserved, but Marbuer is just soft-spoken. He doesn't quite whisper, but it's hard to hear him all the same. His laughs are breathy and his smiles are small.
He's well-liked not only for having saved the village of Hogsden, but because he's also a good listener and giver of advice. He likes teaching people new things.
He's pale, like many other blood magic users. Many of the older villagers would leave him with iron-rich foods thinking he's anemic
Emily thoughts:
She managed to get to the Faayom swamps after escaping Pasdenuit. She's making the most of it and is very enthusiastic about her new home, but she'll probably come to realize life in the wilds is too drastic a change compared to her former life as a noblewoman and leave. Eventually.
Just like all Witch children, she inherits her clairvoyance from her demonic parent the same way Caleb inherits blood magic from Marbuer
She is in constant contact with her demonic parent through means of magic and communication via her familiar. So while he could not see her physically most of her life for risk of putting her in danger of the executioner, they are very close
Demon kisses leave moles. If her father were less careful, she'd have many more on her forehead or cheeks, but as of now she only has the one on the bridge of her nose from when she was a baby
Camilla thoughts:
She didn't have any moles before she was sick and met Marbuer. After they had gotten together, quite a few appeared on her face and body, all of them explained away as after-effects of the disease.
I want her to be a barmaid who's also very charismatic. Before she had married Marbuer, she was considered to be the most wanted woman in the village
