despite what some people may think, there is a very simple purpose to all the layers that ardyn wears; despite the feverish heat that others may come into contact with, he often feels cold. layering helps mitigate that someone, but it also helps to muffle the shape and size of his body. it leaves him far more impressive when he sheds the heavy coat he wears to reveal the sheer width of his torso and shoulders, the leanness of his hips, the powerful legs. many might call his fashion choice ‘thrift store chic’, but he merely found an ensemble that appealed to him and deigned to wear it as he pleased. and despite the somewhat eclectic stylistic choices he has made, every single bit of his clothing is actually quite high end quality; ardyn believes in personally tailored items, from his jacket to his vest to his boots. he has paid people handsome sums of money to customize much of what he wears.

in addition, ardyn is always mightily offended whenever someone thinks he is prone to not bathing or personal hygiene. he’s actually quite the fastidious creature. he showers every day if he can help it and uses hair care products that moisturize as well. he’s always going to smell of earthy aromas, or woodsy scents, all overlaid by the highly expensive oud that he prefers for his cologne. true, he’s not very prone to shaving, but ardyn takes very good care of his hygiene. his hair is combed mostly by his fingers, though he will drag an actual comb through it once per day and then leave it to do as it wills. his nails are manicured. and his dental health is quite good as well! were he to ever bother to dress far more properly, it’d become quickly apparent that ardyn could more than easily turn heads. but it’s not as if certain people have any room to speak about how he looks; certain people whose name start with an n. however, despite his fastidious nature, ardyn has absolutely no issue getting dirty, be it through dirt itself or other more grotesque things that leave him covered with the need to bathe. he won’t be upset if he can’t have a bath or a shower right away, but he will begin to get openly cranky if denied the ability to get himself cleaned up.
