Flowurpal's Back To School Tips Guide
Being Prepared •The night before school I like to make sure I have everything I need in my backpack. Meaning I make sure the assignments that are due the next day are completed and in my folders, my computer and phone is charged, my clothes are ironed and laid out, and any stationary tools I will need the next day such as pencils, erasers, or lead are in my backpack. Waking Up Early •Wake up at an early time that you are comfortable with, you need to make sure you have enough time to wake up, eat, get ready, maybe fit a little studying/homework time, and get to school on time! I usually wake up an hour or so prior to school starting. I definitely suggest setting more than one alarm just in case you dismiss an alarm and give yourself that "extra five minutes" that accidentally turns into another hour of sleep. I set a few alarms, for example: I set an alarm at 6:00 so I can kind of wake up, unwind, go on my phone for a bit, or nap a little bit more. Then I set another alarm for 6:30, which is when I really wake up. Then I also set a few more alarms after that just in case I don't wake up or sleep through the first ones. Eating a Breakfast or Snack Before School •Eat a good breakfast before school! Even some fruit and water will do the trick. This will make you more focused, on task, awake, and save your stomach from embarrassing growls! During School Tips •Try to enjoy the lessons you learn in classes. School will be much easier and enjoyable if you find interest in your school subjects. •I can't stress this enough, if you have a question, ASK IT!! Don't not raise your hand because you're afraid of what other people will think of your question. The odds are, if you didn't understand something then other people may have not got it either. So you will be helping not just yourself, but others too! You honestly don't even have to raise your hand during class, visit your teacher at the end of class or during the day and ask it. You will regret not asking the question when you don't know what to do on homework or a test! Homework Tips •Do your homework with your friends (at a school/public library, house, or park). It is easier to do homework when others around you are doing it too, it keeps you a little bit more focused and motivated, and if you have any questions for each other you can ask! •If you have homework do not put if off to the last minute! Get started on it as soon as you get home so you have the rest of your day to yourself and you will be able to unwind and get a good sleep! This will make all the difference!!! I wish you all the best of luck for the 2015/2016 school year! -Flowurpal
