My Private First Class Suite to Dubai - Onboard Emirates

Someone I follow on Instagram* has been documenting her trip to Malaysia on UAE airlines and they flew first class with a layover in Dubai and holy shit. This video captures the onboard first class experience (caviar, turn down service, shower suites, etc.) but with her layover they also got (and ALL of this is inclusive in the first class price) limo shuttle to and from the hotel, room service, and private check-in/security.

*I started following her for her inclusive outdoor activities, but her travel advice is really excellent, especially if you are larger bodied. When she was in Paris for her honeymoon she hired a local photographer for a few hours to take photos of them and when she was Versailles she rented a golf cart so they could see more things faster - both brilliant ideas I never would have thought of!

Colombo to Dubai - EK655

The first leg of my Siberia Trek was on board Emirates EK655 from Colombo to Dubai. It would have been rude to not enjoy seat 1A and the amazing Emirates Service.

Remember the Emirates First class flight I booked in March? Well, I was telling someone about it and he asked me the price I paid and I just told him to search it himself. Then I went to search it online myself and found a cheaper fare for the same flight to my surprise! I gave Emirates a call to see if I can refund my current reservation and it is indeed possible!

So I immediately cancelled that one and rebooked on the same First class flight from AKL to MEL which saved me $391 NZD!! That's about $365 CAD, which is a huge chunk of $~

Although this time the fare will be non refundable, I wouldn't have a problem with that.
