Kai Trump & Emma Markin in College Together

- they’d mentally prepared themselves for emma to not get in to umiami after being deferred, and accepting they may need to study away from each other and pretended that’d be okay, but in reality they both manifested every day she was getting in. and of course she does.

- they wouldn’t dorm together, bc of the implications, and the newly public eyes on both of them, but they’d always end up staying together in kais dorm so it wouldn’t make a difference anyway.

- they’d make new friends, a new friend group, but the old high school dynamic would persist — their friendship was clearly different to everyone else’s.

- they continue to nervously laugh off any questions or jokes their new friends would make about their bond, the tiktok edits of people shipping them etc. but college would give them both newfound confidence, so they wouldn’t get as defensive and snappy when the subject is brought up.

- kai absolutely goes overboard for emma, buying her random things for her dorm which is only ever used maybe two nights a week and for cooking. emma is her personal chef, and god forbid emma didn’t have every shiny new kitchen appliance available. kai makes the excuse that it’s beneficial to her and not just to emma, but this doesn’t take away the beaming smile on her face when she’d show up to emmas dorm in the evenings with a new gift for her.

- they’re still just friends, of course they are, but when kai has a long day at school and isn’t happy with her golfing, emma stays with her and holds her in a way that friends don’t do. but it’s safe if they don’t speak about it out loud.

-they share as many lectures as possible as they fought for their lives to have their schedules match up even slightly like they did in high school.

- emma stares at kai when she’s not looking, and she often gets carried away and relishes the fact that there is no strict and eagle-eyed high school teachers to notice and shout at her whenever she was “distracted” anymore.

- they start their podcast together, their main filming space being emmas dorm (to make some use out of it)

- their viewers quickly notice that their background, emmas bedroom, NEVER changes between episodes and is always completely untouched, even her stanley cup and random books on her bedside table remain in the exact same positions from one week to the next collecting dust, so they not-so-subtly change recording places to the living room.

- kai was always the outgoing one in comparison to emma, but emma quickly realises that she catches up with kais confidence pretty quickly when she drinks alcohol, so parties become her second favourite place to be (the first being kais dorm, but she doesn’t talk about that).

- sometimes kai can’t go to the crazy parties with their friend group (security risk and all), so she encourages them to all go without her and update her on everything in the morning, and then spends the evenings alone in bed listening to emmas stupid playlist of songs kai swears she doesn’t like.

- the first time kai convinces her parents and her security detail to let her go to an on-campus party, emma is already elbows deep in the social scene of umiami, catching kai by surprise as emma volunteered to walk into the party house first and immediately started greeting people who weren’t even in their year.

- kai feigns her usual confidence, but it falters every time emma gets pulled into a new conversation or dance with a fellow schoolmate.

- kai doesn’t notice how emma looks over everyone’s shoulders to stare at her.

- emma ends up participating in a game of body-shots, while kai laughs and watches from the side but inside her stomach feels sick. she tells herself it’s from the warm beer she’s drinking.

- good looking boys are taking body shots off of emma, and their friends are squealing and hyping emma up but kai is slowly losing her mind.

- an evidently masc lesbian approaches and starts pouring a packet of salt onto emmas stomach to lick off, and kai loses it

- she drags emma off the stupid and sticky kitchen table by the arm, and practically storms out of the house with her, pushing through bodies and ignoring their friends calls and emmas confused pleads to slow down and tell her what’s wrong.

- emma wasn’t stupid, and she would want to have it out with kai right there in the moonlight on the sidewalk in the middle of campus, but god forbid they were to be seen so kai pulls her in silence until they’re at emmas dorm which happened to be closest.

- emma would act offended and ask what the hell her problem was, but she’d still fumble with her keys hurriedly to unlock her door and get them inside as soon as possible.

- they’d stare at each other, emma in confusion and kai in anger, for just a moment and then kai is on her.

- her hands would palm her and feel her frantically all over, biting down on emmas lip in frustration when she’d feel some left over specks of salt lining her stomach.

- the next morning, emma called her mom just to let her know that she’d be moving in with kai and her mom wouldn’t need to pay the $20k a year for her single dormitory for the next four years.

- after that night, everything changed. they still wouldn’t tell anyone, not out loud, but they’d shyly smile at the questions from their friends and kai didn’t care about holding emmas hand strolling through campus anymore.
