just thinking and maybe being a dumbshit, but is it possible that all the btching about “karens” and the like kinda shifts the focus away from management? like don’t treat customer service workers like shit,.... but like who’s actually underpaying people to deal with this shit? and it’s also management’s job to help shield employees rom shitty customers, and it’s often the company that’s pushing lower-level employees out there like cannon fodder.
so you can end up with people with real questions and issues which can include accessibility issues (who are also probably stressed because they’re working a long hours shitty paid job elsewhere) and a group of employees / people who aren’t given the time or the resources to deal with them halfway properly, yelling at eachother. and then the upper levels can pretty much sit in the audience seats of the coliseum with popcorn except for the rare occasions where they might have to go out to starbucks and be the “customer” then. but even occasionally they have people to do that for them.

Nearly 30 percent of all work happened at home in January, six times the rate in 2019, according to WFH Research, a data-collection project. In Washington and other large urban centers, the share of remote work is closer to half. In the nation’s biggest cities, entire office buildings sit empty.
The COVID-19 pandemic transformed the American workplace. The share of all work performed at home rose from 4.7 percent in January 2019 to 61 percent in May 2020. Some economists consider the remote-work boom the greatest change to the labor market since World War II.
