“uh huh, sure you can. when it’s convenient for you and your goal of killing rumplestiltskin.” emma crossed her arms over her chest as she stared him down, scrutinising the pirate, watching for any hint of untruthfulness. yes, belle had told her that things between them had changed and emma only felt two emotions about it. she was happy for her friend because frankly... she deserved better than gold and fortunately, she and the kid didn’t seem to remember him right now. the other feeling... was one of concern. because while it didn’t take much to be better than gold, emma wasn’t so sure that hook was that much better. while what he said was true and he could be good... his long time goal had always been to get revenge on rumplestiltskin. what if this was all that was? even if his feelings were genuine then there were still the ramifications that this would bring about for all three of them. hook, belle, and of course, gideon. “belle told me about you two. that’s one way to get your revenge on your enemy, i suppose. stealing his girlfriend out from under his nose while she has no memories of him. genius plan even if it’s a bit unoriginal.” did emma really believe what she was saying? not... necessarily. it was hook though, he was she hoped she was wrong, in fact. “she deserves better than that... especially considering she seems happy and she really seems to care about you.”
