I had a thought and it ended in this. Emma Tea, the "soulMoglin" as she calls herself. she is a moglin who uses soulweaving as a catalyst for her moglin magic. she calls herself a "SoulMoglin" because she uses soulweaving, soulmending, and chaosweaving (she uses weaving for combat) so she can't identify as just one of them. Her SoulAlly is a Elemental Spirit of Curiosity (or Caring. haven't decided) who is nature aligned.

im having a bad time, imma ramble about Emma Tea.

So when Emma Tea was a baby moglin she thought she didn't have magic cause she couldn't make it happen. no healing, no spells- couldn't use staves or scrolls or wands, nothing. Her and her moglin family move to Falconreach cause of Rose activity. While there she tries to use other things to try and get her magic going- daggers don't work, swords are too big, and hammers are too heavy. Emma feels hopeless and is more convinced she simply doesn't have magic. Every moglin on lore has magic but her. One night Emma can't sleep and has a bad time with the whole Can't Use Magic thing and goes for a walk and finds the portal to Ravenloss.

Wandering around she sees all the weavers and magical creatures and eventually passes out cause its WAY past her bed time. When she wakes up, she's in Belle's school and Emma immediately wants to learn what a Weaver is. After a quick explanation and a demonstration she asks if they make spiritlooms for moglins.

When she is told a weaver makes their own looms she is starry eyed. This is the only thing she hasn't tried- spiritlooms. and she'll make them herself for herself! not sure if Emma is Belle's first student but she is taught soulweaving by Belle. When she gets the looms and goes to find a soulally she comes back with... Catalyst.

where Aegis is our Aegis, Catalyst is her Catalyst. Emma is able to channel her moglin magic- which is generic moglin healing, which is fine, she has magic!- with the help of her soulally, so Catalyst as a name fits.

She makes scarves, she learns about soulmending, she learns about chaosweaving and makes her soulclaws look like some Katar daggers she saw once. She doesn't want to hurt Catalyst so always asks if they're doing okay after every combat. Catalyst insists they're fine but Emma checks anyway.

Emma Tea is "teal" because my sister figured out the pun and insisted that she be the color of scrubs.

I want Ajax to meet her and be his little friend but also I want her to meet Scalla and just kinda hug her all the time. Emotional support moglin Emma Tea is here!

100% got in trouble for not coming home for the time she spent learning soulweaving and was grounded for a week- during which time she Caused Problems on Purpose for Rose patrols. Eventually finding a patrol that was worse for ware. She wanted to cause problems but her heart ached and she was crestfallen at the idea of making things worse for them. This patrol woke with all their bumps and bruises and injuries healed "over night" and their uniforms repaired.

Emma does not think shes a good rebel. She's helped Rose and Magic users alike- she thinks shes just a weaver trying to make things a little less awful for others.

She is not allowed in Lim's shop or the soulsmithy because her curiosity has caused Problems. Lim had to get her and Lime off of the ceiling after the two got stuck there due to static electricity, and the soulsmithy... well, she wasn't allowed on principle after she was seen running around making scarves for every single magical creature that so much as looked chilly.

speaking of soulsmithing i don't think she would like the idea of it.

its 3am and i had a scene in my head for the past hour.

The moglin cheered as she ran zigzags though the flurries of snow, laughing joyfully as flakes fell in her mouth and she eventually tumbled into a snowbank. Catalyst hesitated for a moment, about to float over and help the moglin, but a moment later Emma burst forth from the snowbank.

"Its snowing!" she cheered loudly.

Winter was here in Falconreach and that meant snow and cold.

Ajax clutched his cocoaberry juice tightly as he watched the snowflakes fall. He couldn't take his eyes off them- and he tried, desperately. He was trying to have a conversation with Ash and Scalla but his eyes would snap to the gentle movement outside and suddenly he shivered.

"Is he alright?" Ash asked. He wasn't used to The Second Hero of Lore yet, and wasn't sure how to talk to him, let alone ask him if he is alright.

"Its the cold." Scalla says. "I had the same problem- Chilly and the other frost moglins helped me though it."

"Well, Frostvale is coming up. Maybe you two should head up early so he isn't... doing that during the festival..."

Ash had gestured to Ajax's blank stare and the way his hands trembled. Scalla shook her head at the brunette, a little amused but mostly disappointed. Ajax's behavior was understandable-

"its snowing!" a voice cries outside the inn.

Following Ajax's gaze, Ash and Scalla watch a teal moglin fall back and start making snow angels. Scalla gets an idea. She places her hand on Ajax's shoulder, the warrior flinching and looking up at her.

"That's Belle's student. You want to go meet her?" She tilted her head in question.

"In the... snow?" Ajax turned to look at the snow again, expression neutral but Scalla could see the fear in his eyes.

"Only if you want." She patted his shoulder and started for the door, grabbing her scarf and warm coat.

Ajax watched. He wanted to move from this spot by the window, wanted to drink his cocoberry juice (which had gotten cold), wanted to hang out with Scalla more. When the elder left the inn he waited for her to appear in view of the window. The elemental spirit floating about the moglin saw her first and waved her over. He watched the trio have a conversation of some kind- it involved him since the moglin would look at him every now and then. Eventually Ash left the inn to join them and now Ajax REALLY wished he could move, but...

He was frozen in place by the cold.

His eyes stung and he swallowed the small whimper he was about to make. He wanted to stay warm and never be cold again. With great effort he tears his eyes and face away from the window, screwing his eyes shut and taking a big gulp of the savory drink. Its cold, so it doesn't warm him up but his hands stop shaking and his muscles relax.

There is a tap at the window. He smiles at the fact he didn't jump or startled at it. looking up he sees the moglin has climbed up to hang off the window sill. She waves at him and he waves back- and then blanks, hand going down to the table, as he notices the snow again. It feels like theres a chill in the air and for all he knew there could be. the snow continues to fall and ice is forming from the melted bits off of the inn. He watches a droplet of water form, slide down, and then freeze on a icicle. The tapping causes him to jump this time.

When he looks again he sees the moglin is holding up a scarf.

Its blue, his favorite color, like the trim of his armor, but there is a lighter shade that sits between the bands of color. Like Aegis.

The thought of his soul ally almost breaks his heart. He doesn't have as strong a connection as Scalla has with her's, but Aegis is still pretty close with Ajax. He wasn't scared of Aegis... wasn't even phased by him. Whats the difference between this cold and Aegis' cold?

Ajax smiles and mouths "for me?" to the moglin. She nods excitedly and jumps off the window sill. Ajax takes a deep breath and stands from the table. He doesn't move way yet, but he is no longer sitting and that feels like progress. Its a whole minute of standing over his cocoberry juice before he takes another breath and turns to the door.

He can feel his green hair stand on end as the door open and a gust of chilly wind and snowflakes crashes though the inn like a wild boar in the oaklore gardens. Ash stands in the door way and smiles at him before something about Ajax- his face, his posture, something- makes him frown.

"Are you okay?" he asks, hesitant, nothing like His Ash.

"I was until you opened the door." Ajax admits with a sigh.

Ash tosses Ajax his coat- a early Frostvale gift from Scalla- and its enough to get the warrior to move from the spot. Its nice and warm, so when he steps out into the icy air he isn't affected as much. His first steps in the snow feel like he is walking onto a battlefield, entering a dangerous situation. His breathing is even as if he is reserving energy in a fight, and it gets noticed by the only person who could pick up on it. Scalla walks over to him and nudges him out of the door way to the inn, into the center of town, and then gestures to his left. Looking down, the moglin holds up the scarf.

He stoops down to reach for it and then gasps, freezing in place, as a snowball hits him in the head.

"Oh, its ON!" He hears Scalla growl with a hint of playfulness. Theres giggling and cries of mock fear.

He doesn't move, just listens to Scalla chase the children around. He is vaguely aware of Ash trying to talk to him but he doesn't hear him.

Two toned blue cloth obstructs his vision a moment as the scarf is slowly wrapped around his neck.

"There you go!" the moglin assures. "Nice and warm! And calming too!"

Ajax reaches to touch the scarf and is surprised by the fact that, yes, he is much calmer now. He straightens and takes in his surroundings- Ash is watching him carefully, the soul ally is making a snowman, the snow is falling, Scalla has her visor down and a shield up, and theres three kids trying in vain to pelt her with snowballs.

Its still cold, but he isn't frozen. Its just snow. Its... peaceful.

"Thank you." Ajax smiles down at the moglin. "Uhh..."

"I'm Emma Tea! SoulMoglin!" she cheers moments before a snowball topples her over into the snow.

Ajax looks up to see one of the children is preparing another snowball while Scalla is distracted. As calm as he is right now, he isn't sure he can survive a snowball fight. He reaches down and lifts Emma back up, the moglin shivering for a moment before hugging herself, warmth almost wafting off of her.

"Revenge!" She cries and wiggles out of Ajax's grip. She starts rolling a snowball.

The warrior takes several steps back from the insuring fight. When a stray snowball lands at his feet he can feel his nerves fray and decides that was enough snow for him.

He settles down in front of the fireplace in the inn. Emma Tea's scarf is warm and he breaths calmly, warm cocoberry juice in hand.

Snow... The Cold... he still has a long way to go, but he is glad he has some support.
