People in the USA better vote for Kamala or they're going to end up like what this state election (in Aus) is looking like right now. Like we're probably going to lose abortion rights and stuff. Ironically, it seems splitting the vote with the Greens is at least partially the cause of it. Fucking awful. Wish I could vote but I'm not a citizen.
We've had the Labor party (left wing kind of one) for like 12 years and now we're going to lose that and shit's fucked. I swear there has been a strong Americanisation of politics here from yankee-wannabes and it's fucking cooked us.
Watched Flow tonight and it was so sweet. I always cry when bad things happen to the kitties, like when I watched a playthrough of the game Stray.
Gorgeous movie, loved it! Love how they did the textures for the water and how clear the story was despite having no dialogue (of course). The characters were so so cute and it made me appreciate friendship and teamwork and lovely animals.
I feel so deeply for cats so it was really poignant for me. So happy they won the Oscar! Will watch some more movies in that category, too, like The Wild Robot and Wallace and Gromit.
The way the kitty's eyes were doing all that was so cute, as well. Precious little creatures! All of 'em!
The shit Israelis were doing in Amsterdam a couple days ago is nasty as fuck. They were chanting "Death to Arabs" and attacking people, but then the media and politicians (including Australia ones for some unholy reason) are trying to paint them as the victims. It's so egregiously disgusting and blatantly untrue bullshit. Infuriating!
Gross as fuck how people are trying to devalue the awfulness of actual antisemitism with their zionist Israeli dickriding bullshit. And at the same time, of course, they're contributing to the very real islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiments that are being used to fuel the genocide of Palestine.
Shit has gone so backwards since the start of 2020 and this is just another symptom of that.
I need people in the US to please, please, please, vote Democrat in November. Trying to teach them a lesson by voting third-party or not voting at all will push Trump to win. This Is Very Bad. It also just pushes the Democrats further right, too.
If you care about Palestine as much as you should, you wouldn't want someone who said that Israel should “finish up your war” and “get the job done.” You wouldn't want Project 2025 to be carried out, which would effectively turn the US into a fascistic dictatorship.
Because you don't want "blood on your hands" -- you would rather not do anything wrong than do something right -- everyone who isn't a rich, able-bodied cishet male would have their lives put at extreme risk. It's selfish!
No abortions, no contraceptives, no Medicare, no social security, no same-sex marriage, no Muslims allowed into the US, mass deportations and a whole lot of other awful shit will happen if Trump is elected.
And obviously anyone with a brain knows Biden isn't the best candidate for several reasons, but he is infinitely better than Trump. A third party is never going to win the presidency. Don't waste your vote. A vote for a third party is a vote for Trump. This isn't the time to play games or to bait politicians.
The results of this election have a greater impact outside of the US than you think. Voting is a right you should absolutely not take for granted. You have a moral and ethical obligation to vote.
If you want change, protest, advocate for minority groups, petition, rally, strike and take collective action. But absolutely do not neglect the power of your vote.
Happy Pi Day!!!!
On this Pi Day, I would like to honour the humble meat pie (and my favourite being specifically a chunky steak pie). Apple pies, too, but especially with vanilla ice cream.
oooh a kendrick snippet on youtube?
