Flying High With Birdman
Birdman is a 2014 black comedy film about a washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero who must overcome his ego and family trouble as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory.
Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance won the Academy Award for Best Picture, along with Best Director for Iñárritu, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography, and also receiving five additional nominations,
Not only is this film filled with Hollywood's 'A' list actors, with most notably starred in Superhero flicks from Edward Norton (Hulk), Emma Stone (The Amazing Spiderman) to the leading guy Micheal Keaton (Batman) its one helluva flick.
One thing's for sure the Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu is creative with this one. Most of Birdman appears filmed in a single shot, an idea the director had from the film's conception. This required an atypical production approach, with many elements of post-production requiring consideration before principal photography. It's a lot of work.

You can try to ran away from your past but it will never ran away from you. So why not revisit it and make the most of it.
When tackling a major project we have to face the significant questions like Why you're doing this? Who you're doing it for? and What do you want from it? Riggan only asks one How I'm going to do this? (Look where that got him?)
Not all birds fly, some are stranded on the ground but with their heads up in the sky. (Know what I mean) Which bird do you prefer? The one flying with it head on the ground or the one standing with its head in the cloud.
.....Read between the lines........
Did you know?
The film's ending was also changed halfway through filming. The original ending would've have included Johnny Depp. Instead of the hospital it would be in the theatre, and involved Johnny Depp sitting in Riggan's dressing room. They would not have been able to shoot this version anyway, since Depp wasn't available.
On December 12, 2014, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their longlist for the Academy Award for Best Original Score, from which Birdman was absent. Sánchez had received a note from the award committee the previous day explaining the decision, quoting rule fifteen of the 87th Academy Award Rules and writing they felt "the fact that the film also contains over a half an hour of non-original (mostly classical) music cues that are featured very prominently in numerous pivotal moments in the film made it difficult for the committee to accept your submission."
Adios for now gotta fly. Seen a lot of underwear in this flick.... thaaank you Alejandro...
