"You may join," Aizawa muttered, scratching absently at the stubble along his jaw, "just don't get in my way." "Thank you." The blond-haired man smiled warmly and extended his hand. "My name is Yagi. Yagi Toshinori." Aizawa stared at the man's hand briefly, before shaking it. Large and roughened by callouses from hard won battles, the rogue could only assume. If the warrior was as experienced as he described himself, perhaps he could complete the contract with less trouble. The faster they were finished, the faster they could be on their own merry way. "Aizawa Shōta." — A Dungeons & Dragons/Dungeon Meshi-inspired take on the BNHA Fantasy AU. Aizawa is a weary rogue who finds himself with an unlikely companion when he takes up his latest contract by a guild elder trying to rid a group of bandits occupying one of the neighbouring dungeons. Though having long given up trying to adventure with a party, Aizawa begrudgingly lets the strange warrior, Yagi Toshinori, follow along. Can the two of them survive this adventure? This mysterious warrior doesn't seem to be who he says he is.

"Why risk the journey by yourself? You could just as easily have died, or possibly be running a fool's errand," Aizawa asked. The older man paused, eyes darting towards him. "Perhaps I just wanted to feel useful." Yagi's voice tapered, a soft look crossing his face. It was Aizawa's turn to pause. Yagi had said the words so plainly, as if commenting on the weather. And somehow the reason for the older man's actions seemed to slip into place. Silence stretched between them while the rogue struggled to find words to reply. The other man had been reading too many old knight's tales, Aizawa thought bitterly.
