"Why risk the journey by yourself? You could just as easily have died, or possibly be running a fool's errand," Aizawa asked. The older man paused, eyes darting towards him. "Perhaps I just wanted to feel useful." Yagi's voice tapered, a soft look crossing his face. It was Aizawa's turn to pause. Yagi had said the words so plainly, as if commenting on the weather. And somehow the reason for the older man's actions seemed to slip into place. Silence stretched between them while the rogue struggled to find words to reply. The other man had been reading too many old knight's tales, Aizawa thought bitterly.
