Hi. I've been busy today--but you've been getting death threats for your fics? Really? That's beyond insane. Forget the fact that you are a beautiful writer: why would someone get so worked up if they hate johnlock or fan fics or whatever? People mystify me sometimes. Anyway, keep up your gorgeous writing and don't let arseholes get you down! xoxoxo
I imagine it’s because I only write canon-compliant stories, which means that if I’m going to write anything that takes place after series 3, I have to deal with Mary. I either have to just write a post-series 3 story set far enough into the future that I can get away with a skimmed-over mention of what became of her (and the baby), or I write a proper fix-it that works through it all in detail and then moves on from there. The Mary fans, naturally, don’t like that, because by definition, if I’m going to put Sherlock and John together, it means dissolving John’s marriage to Mary. Or having John cheat on Mary, but I only ever have him do that very briefly - and then ending his marriage. I’m no fan of infidelity, either, but on his way out, maybe, while he’s figuring out his feelings for Sherlock. Either way, Mary’s a goner. Plus I’m also no fan of kidfic, so I’m also going to have to get rid of the baby. So far I’ve had it die three times, had it not be John’s several times, and once I did a fake pregnancy. :P But yeah, I can see why Mary fans wouldn’t like my fics. That’s fine; I don’t care if they don’t. But they suuuuure don’t have to read them, or look at my blog posts. Sigh.
Thanks for this. <33333
