Man-snail, a Song in the “Children of Dune” Novel by Frank Herbert
Children of Dune Author: Frank Herbert Date Published: 1976 Pages: 157-158 “O Doctor of Beasts, To a green snail shell With its timid miracle Hidden, awaiting death, You come as a deity! Even snails know That gods obliterate, And cures bring pain, That heaven is seen Through a door of flame. O Doctor of Beasts, I am the man-snail Who sees your single eye Peering into my shell! Why, Muad’Dib? Why? Ghanima said, ‘Unfortunately, our father left many man-snails in our universe.’“ Short Commentary: I don’t know about man-snails and their exact nature. But, this sounds like a foreshadow the coming of Emo Worm Man a.k.a. the God Emperor of Dune (Leto Atreides II).

What does family mean for the God Emperor of Dune?
Family doesn’t have to be parents and siblings.
Sometimes family is you, your favorite clone friend who keeps coming back to either help you or kill you or go kill you later, your all-female army under your command, your long distant relative who is planning to kill you and you let it happen, your majordomo priest dude who has nothing better to say than be subservient to you, that Uncle Malky who knows how mad you are and you end up marrying his bio-engineered daughter, and finally, memories of your ancestors that you professed in your monologue about being a giant Emo worm man, god being of the desert and being so alone still.

I never thought I would love a worm and then this asshole showed up.
Now I'm curious how many female Dune series fans are currently on Tumblr (prior to the film influx related to the actor playing Paul. Obviously we'll have some Oscar Isaac fans too.👍)
If you identify as female and love the Dune series, reblog or leave a comment with either 1. Your fave book from the series OR 2. What first drew your interest to the series. Was it Lynch or Syfy miniseries? Some random person reccing it to you because you liked Star Wars?
My answers: God Emperor of Dune and my first entry was watching the two Syfy miniseries.
